Romans 4:1-5 says "What then shall we say was gained by Abraham, our forefather according to the flesh? For if Abraham was justified by works, he has something to boast about, but not before God. For what does the Scripture say? "Abraham believed God, and it was counted to him as righteousness." Now to the one who works, his wages are not counted as a gift but as his due. And to the one who does not work but believes in him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is counted as righteousness". The law shows us that we are not measuring up, and that's all. The law cannot save you. If you are trying to work your way into righteousness, you will never achieve it. Instead, trust that God can justify you, give you hope, and make you righteous.

Our view of God is distorted by our life of sin and death. But when we are born again we can know God as who He truly is. And that changes how we relate to one another.

We have many things to be grateful for and in light of the celebration of the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ we have the opportunity to experience the power of new life. We were stuck in our death and we need something to set us free. In Romans 6 Paul writes: "Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? ..." Romans 6:3-4

What choices will you make in life in light of the hope that you have in Christ Jesus? Hope is an important reality for all of us. We all need hope. It changes our attitudes and actions. In Hebrews 11 we see the hope that Moses had. "By faith Moses, when he was grown up, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter, choosing rather to be mistreated with the people of God than to enjoy the fleeting pleasures of sin." Hebrews 11:24-25

• It's extremely difficult to believe GOD loves me. I've asked for forgiveness but when/ how can I forgive myself?

There are so many things that affect us at large and in person. "See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are. Beloved, we are God's children now, and what we will be has not yet appeared; but we know that when he appears we shall be like him, because we shall see him as he is. And everyone who thus hopes in him purifies himself as he is pure." 1 John 3:1-3
