I Am Convinced

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Andrew Farley

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword? ... For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:35-39

Counted as Righteousness

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis

Romans 4:1-5 says "What then shall we say was gained by Abraham, our forefather according to the flesh? For if Abraham was justified by works, he has something to boast about, but not before God. For what does the Scripture say? "Abraham believed God, and it was counted to him as righteousness." Now to the one who works, his wages are not counted as a gift but as his due. And to the one who does not work but believes in him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is counted as righteousness". The law shows us that we are not measuring up, and that's all. The law cannot save you. If you are trying to work your way into righteousness, you will never achieve it. Instead, trust that God can justify you, give you hope, and make you righteous.

Bob shares an email from Ben. "I never would have imagined such change would take place in my life ... from deep despair to ever-increasing hope and stability". We all need hope in this world. But you're not gonna find a lot of hope in this world apart from Jesus. "It is always good to be made much of for a good purpose, and not only when I am present with you, my little children, for whom I am again in the anguish of childbirth until Christ is formed in you! Assured of Salvation

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis

I've often asked the question, if you could have anything in life, what would it be? Quite often the answer comes back, "just a little peace". And the only source of peace is God. Paul put it this way in Romans: "Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ..." Romans 5:1

Blessed with Every Blessing

Andrew Farley, Bob Davis

"But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life." Revealed

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Andrew Farley

What is the truth about God? God is love. God so loved the world... We need to get our ideas about God aligned with what He says about himself. Our view of God is distorted by our life of sin and death. But when we are born again we can know God as who He truly is. And that changes how we relate to one another.

The Knowledge of God

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis

Yesterday we asked the question, "do you know what you believe"? When you think about God, what comes into your mind? What are your thoughts about God? Why is this important? Because God is the most important person in our lives. "What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us." A. W. Tozer

Whatever is True

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis

We get so much bad news in the world today and it's so easy to get sucked into that. But there's a solution to that. Paul tells us in Philippians 4:8 "Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things."

He Satisfies Every Need

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer

We have what the world needs. And that's the true knowledge of God. There is the knowledge that God exists. But what so many ask is what is God like? "So Paul, standing in the midst of the Areopagus, said: 'Men of Athens, I perceive that in every way you are very religious. For as I passed along and observed the objects of your worship, I found also an altar with this inscription: 'To the unknown god.' What therefore you worship as unknown, this I proclaim to you.'" We have many things to be grateful for and in light of the celebration of the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ we have the opportunity to experience the power of new life. We were stuck in our death and we need something to set us free. In Romans 6 Paul writes: "Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? ..." The Hope of Moses

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis

What choices will you make in life in light of the hope that you have in Christ Jesus? Hope is an important reality for all of us. We all need hope. It changes our attitudes and actions. In Hebrews 11 we see the hope that Moses had. "By faith Moses, when he was grown up, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter, choosing rather to be mistreated with the people of God than to enjoy the fleeting pleasures of sin." Hebrews 11:24-25

You Are a Child of God

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis

What does hope mean to you and me? How does the hope of the Gospel lift us up? During this pandemic more than 50% of Americans have experienced depression. There are so many things that affect us at large and in person. "See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are. The reason why the world does not know us is that it did not know him. Beloved, we are God's children now, and what we will be has not yet appeared; but we know that when he appears we shall be like him, because we shall see him as he is. And everyone who thus hopes in him purifies himself as he is pure." 1 John 3:1-3

A Radical Transformation

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis

"But when the goodness and loving kindness of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that being justified by his grace we might become heirs according to the hope of eternal life." Titus 3:4-7 Not only did we need grace for forgiveness but we need grace for life. It's simply grace from start to finish.
