God is there for you.

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God (2 Corinthians 1:3, 4).

I've got a question for you. Have you ever asked this: "Where is God when I hurt?" I’ve wondered about this in some of my dark days. I bet you have too. As the pop lyricist wrote in the 90’s, "everybody hurts, sometime."

We all know that life is filled with all types of trials and tribulations. These trials seem to come at us like waves to the beach. And each of them brings a certain measure of pain and suffering into our lives. It's this pain and suffering that compels so many to call the Basic Gospel radio broadcast. They want to know answers to these troubling questions:

  • Does God really care about me?
  • If He loves me, why is He letting me suffer?
  • Will He ever heal the pain?

Yes, God cares about us. He demonstrated that care at the cross and through the gift of the Holy Spirit.

He lives in you...always. He will never leave you, nor forsake you...even when you hurt. Here is the truth -God is right there with you in the midst of your pain. And he knows what you are going through and what you feel.

He never promised to take away the trials and tribulations. But he did promise to comfort you. That is who he is. As Paul discovered, "God is the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort." He is there for you when you hurt and comforts you in all of your troubles.

The God of all comfort lives in you. He knows your pain and suffering. Cast your cares on him and trust Him to comfort your soul. God sees your pain, knows your trials, and is working on your behalf.

In Him,

Bob Christopher

These four promises are everything

Mon, Oct 21st

This is the covenant I will establish with the people of Israel after that time, declares the Lord. I will put my laws in their minds and write them on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people. No longer will they teach their neighbor, or say to one another, 'Know the Lord,' because they will all know me, from the least of them to the greatest. For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more (Hebrews 8:10-12).

I will give you rest.

Wed, Oct 23rd

Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light (Matthew 11:28-30).
