Jesus is alive!

We know that Christ being raised from the dead will never die again; death no longer has dominion over him (Romans 6:9).

Jesus was raised from the dead.

He is alive.

He will never die again. This means death no longer has dominion over him. It also means that the life he lives he lives to God. Paul explained: "The death he died he died to sin, once and for all, but the life he lives he lives to God" (Romans 6:10).

Now this is all true of Jesus.

But, what about you? What is true of you as a child of God?

Well here is your story as Paul writes it:

We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life (Romans 6:4).

You have been baptized, or placed, into Christ’s death, burial and resurrection. You are identified with Christ. And He is identified with you. Which means…

  • You have been set free from sin
  • Sin is no longer your master
  • Death no longer has dominion over you
  • Because he lives, you live.

That’s good news!

You are in Christ. And Christ is in you. Therefore...

Count yourself dead to sin, and alive to God in Christ Jesus. It's true.

In Him,

So, what makes the New better than the Old?

Others became priests without any oath, but he became a priest with an oath when God said to him: "The Lord has sworn and will not change his mind: 'You are a priest forever'" (Hebrews 7:18-22).

Who is your shepherd?

Fri, Nov 8th

I am the good shepherd. I know my own and my own know me, just as the Father knows me and I know the Father; and I lay down my life for the sheep (John 10:14,15 ESV).
