A new purpose.

Continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose (Philippians 2:12, 13).

One of the big life questions we ask is, "Why am I here?" This is a question about purpose. In the realm of darkness, purpose is where we miss the mark. We don't carry out God's desires for us. Instead, we live for ourselves.

I wrestled with this question for many years. Other people seemed to know their purpose in life. They had a plan and a direction. I felt stuck in the mud. Nothing seemed that important to me. Solomon must have felt the same way when he wrote, "Everything is meaningless."

Discovering the grace of God cut through my confusion and helped me see that God did have a purpose for me. I was on this earth for a reason.

God works in us every minute of every day so we will choose and act according to his good purpose. It's a process that aligns our hearts and minds with his. Your purpose is this: to work out in day-to-day life what God is working in you.

I think Peter struggled with his purpose in life, especially after he denied the Lord. Jesus restored him by saying, "Feed my sheep." Peter got the message. He helped many others find their purpose in life.

To cross over from death to life is to cross over to a new purpose in life.

When you received Jesus, you received a new purpose. It can look different every day. That's what makes the Christian life the most exciting adventure of all. God lets you participate in his work. Talk about meaning and purpose!

For everything in the world - the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life - comes not from the Father but from the world (1 John 2:16).

See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are...(1 John 3:1).
