For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more (Hebrews 8:12).
The fourth promise of the New Covenant is this:
For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more.
Hebrews 10:18 definitively declares what this fourth covenant means for you and me:
And where these have been forgiven, sacrifice for sin is no longer necessary.
This is truth that changes everything. Jesus's sacrifice took away your sins once and for all. No other sacrifice is needed. The blood of Jesus, and only the blood of Jesus, was of enough value to take away sins.
Here is the take-away for you.
Because you are in the New Covenant, your sins have been forgiven and God remembers them no more.
Not just some sins, all of them. Sins in the past, sins in the present, and sins in the future. God does not look at you based on sin. You are forgiven and clean in God's sight, not only right now but always.
Today, thank him for the forgiveness that is yours in Jesus. Step away from guilt and shame over your sins. Let the fourth promise of the New Covenant really sink in. You are forgiven, forever.
Now rest in his finished work. It will do your soul well.
In Him,
Bob Christopher
