For a period in my life, I was “Mr. Non-committal”.

I was always waiting for something better to come along.

Many people are like that when it comes to Christianity.

They like what they hear concerning Jesus, but they don’t want to say “yes” to him just in case something or someone better shows up.

There are even genuine, sincere believers who are afraid to fully take hold of their new life in Christ.

What if they miss out on something good in this world.

Here is some good news.

Every good and perfect gift comes from the Father.

His highest word his best gift to you is Jesus.

With him, that someone better has arrived.

With him, you can live life to the full.

Mon: Something Much Better

How we spend our lives as Christians changed at the moment of new birth.

Peter put it this way:

“For whoever has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin, so as to live for the rest of the time in the flesh no longer for human passions, but for the will of God.”

You once lived to gratify the desires of the flesh. And you followed the ways of the world.

But God saved you from that empty way of life.

Now the world is going to bully you and do all it can to lure you back.

When it does, remember, you’ve already had enough of “the evil things godless people enjoy.”

You've been raised with Christ for something much better and more rewarding…

the good and pleasing and perfect will of God.

Sat: His Amazing Grace

Listen to these encouraging words from the Apostle Paul…

“Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand.”

You maybe having a rough time right now—and things aren’t going the way you want them to go.

You may even feel like God is a million miles away.

If that’s the case, will you stop and thank God that you have been justified through faith? Think about it, right now you are in right standing with him

Why not give thanks that you are at peace with Him through Jesus and thank him that you are standing in his amazing grace.

There is no better place to be.

Mon: The Prayer of a Righteous Person

The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.

That’s what the Bible says.

Now you may be thinking, “I wish that verse described my prayer life.” Well it can.

Just look at Elijah. He was human. Yet when he prayed for the stop, it did for three and a half years. And then when he prayed for rain, the rain poured down and the earth produced crops.

Well how did that happen?

Because Elijah simply prayed God’s Word.

You see, God was the one who said he would dry up the skies if the people rebelled. And that he would open the heavens if they returned to him

It’s His Word that is powerful and effective.

So if you want you prayers to be powerful and effective, let the Word of God shape what you ask for.

That’s the prayer of a righteous person.

Sun: Trust Him to Answer

Tragically, many people are confused about how prayer works.

Maybe you can identify with this person’s question.

I don’t understand why some people think that when they pray for something and get it, it was because of their faith. And when they don’t get what they prayed for it was because of their lack of faith.

Well this is the most common misconception about prayer… that if you have enough faith you’ll get anything you want from God.

Well prayer is not a magic wand or a quick fix, it’s merely a conversation with God.

So talk to him. Tell him about your fears, your pains, your desires, and dreams. And then trust him to answer according to his will and plan for your life.

This is the kind of prayer that will help you experience the peace of God that passes understanding.

Sat: Does God Answer Prayer?

Does God answer prayer?

Sometimes you wonder, right?

Well, let me encourage you with this promise from 1 John 5:14 & 15:

"This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us — whatever we ask — we know that we have what we asked of him."

Well if you’re asking according to his will you can count on the fact that he hears you.

Think about that. God, the one who spoke the world into existence, hears your prayers.

And here’s the best part, you know you have what you asked of him.

So dig into the Word. Trust the Spirit to teach you God’s will, and then pray with confidence knowing God hears and answers.

Tue: The Place for You

The center of God’s will.

That’s the place for you.

The world may look exciting and thrilling, but it has nothing that can satisfy your soul or put contentment in your heart.

Absolutely nothing!

Tom Brady said this: “I’ve won three super bowls. It’s great and awesome to have these three rings, to have the accolades, to have the popularity. But you know, there is still something missing.”

The rings, the accolades, and the popularity weren’t enough for Tom Brady. They won’t be enough for you either.

There is only one person who can satisfy your soul, and His name is Jesus.

He is the center of God’s will. And it’s in him that your heart will find its greatest contentment and deepest joy.

Fri: Stuck in the Mud?

Steve called our radio broadcast to discuss a big decision he was facing.

After explaining the situation to me, he asked, "what is God's will for me?"

Steve was stuck in the mud because he didn't want to miss God's will.

I can tell you, being stuck in the mud like Steve is not God's will.

Maybe you feel the same way in your life today. If so let me encourage you to take a look at the promises of the new covenant found in Hebrews 8:10-12.

There you will discover that God's will for you is

  • to live each day being led by the Holy Spirit.
  • to walk in assurance that you belong to Christ.
  • to enjoy to the full a relationship with God
  • and to know that your sins have been forgiven once and for all.

Walk in these promises and you will find the confidence to walk in freedom.

Tue: Do You Know?

Do you know that God wants you to experience his love more than anything else in life.

So much so, he moved Paul to pen this incredible prayer that’s recorded for us in Ephesians 3

“I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ; and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.”

Let me encourage you to adopt this passage as your personal prayer.

I guarantee that if you do, God will answer in ways that far exceed anything you could ask or imagine.
