Mon: It's Time

The Suicide rate among teens is up 70% in the last several years.

This is a sad statistic.

One research group asked the question why?

The major factor this research group identified was the lack of religious connection among our teens.

They do not have a sense of purpose or meaning.

This tells me that we have lost sight of the relevance and the power of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

It’s time for us to engage our youth in the story of Jesus.

And to help them find their place in him where they can experience true meaning and purpose.

So let’s do what we can to help them make a connection, a connection to the love of Jesus Christ.

Sat: Kids Need Grace Too

Dads, it is easy to exasperate our kids.

The very thing the Bible tells us not to do.

But we do it when we tie our acceptance and approval of our kids to their performance.

Now we may not intend to do this.

But when our kids come to us excited about the B they made on a very hard test and we respond, “why didn’t you make an A?”, we are communicating to them that our approval has to be earned.

That’s exasperating for a kid.

Dads listen to this encouragement from Paul.

“Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you.”

Show this grace to your children. Let them know you accept them without strings attached

Rather than exasperating them, you can bring them up in the training of the Lord.
