A New Heart

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Andrew Farley

"But thanks be to God, that you who were once slaves of sin have become obedient from the heart to the standard of teaching to which you were committed, and, having been set free from sin, have become slaves of righteousness. " Romans 6:17 What does it mean to be obedient from the heart?

Blessed with Every Blessing

Andrew Farley, Bob Davis

"But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life." Grace puts us in union with Jesus. His story becomes our story. The truth of this is profound. It's one thing to know that we have been saved and will spend eternity with him. It's quite another to know that you have been given a new heart and Jesus has taken up residence in you. When you realize you are a new creature in Christ, you can live a life full of abundance.

Two Made One in Christ

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis

Where did these manmade religions come into being? We need to go back to the beginning... to the story of Adam and Eve and the fall. Upon finding themselves naked they sewed fig leaves together and made loin cloths. They were trying to cover their shame from God. But it didn't work. Only God was able to make the provision for their sin and for ours.

Jesus' Claims

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis

Do you know what you believe about the death, burial, and resurrection? It's the Gospel story. But, why is it relevant to you? Jesus died for our sins in accordance to scriptures. Jesus was buried. Proof of death is necessary for a will to go into effect; therefore, the New Covenant is in effect. Why was Jesus raised? It is proof that all of his claims about himself are true. It also means that we, too, are raised to walk in the newness of life.

Revealed

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Andrew Farley

What is the truth about God? God is love. God so loved the world... We need to get our ideas about God aligned with what He says about himself. Our view of God is distorted by our life of sin and death. But when we are born again we can know God as who He truly is. And that changes how we relate to one another.

All roads lead to Philippians 3. It sets the stage for our purpose and reason for being in life. "For no one is a Jew who is merely one outwardly, nor is circumcision outward and physical. The Bread of Life

Jesus underscores who he is in the seven "I am" statements. Jesus said to them, "I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst." John 6:35 He said this just after he fed the 5,000. We have this spiritual hunger inside of us. But it can't be satisfied by worldly things. It can only be satisfied when we receive Jesus Christ by faith.

The Truth We Cherish

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis

We see a lot of people trying to blend the various philosophies of the world's religions with Christianity and create something palatable to everyone. But all they do is take away from the truth of Christianity. Paul wrote about this when addressing the Corinthians. "Therefore, as to the eating of food offered to idols, we know that 'an idol has no real existence,' and that 'there is no God but one.'" 1 Corinthians 8:4 That's the truth we cherish as believers.
