When we're talking about "The Great 'I am'" we're talking about Jesus. He has everything we need to meet our needs. Moses asked God... "If I come to the people of Israel and say to them, 'The God of your fathers has sent me to you,' and they ask me, 'What is his name?' what shall I say to them?" God said to Moses, "I am who I am." Exodus 3:13-15

The Great "I Am": The Bread of Life

1 Corinthians 8:6 states there is just one God, manifested through the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. We exist through God the Father and Jesus Christ the Son and experience it through the Holy Spirit. Jesus made seven I AM claims about himself. The first is "I AM the bread of life". Our hunger is satisfied and our thirst is quenched through Jesus Christ.

The Great "I Am": The Way, the Truth and the Life

Jesus boldly says in John 14:6 "I am the way the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me". These statements of Jesus are exclusive. He does not say he is A way - he clearly says he is THE way. The world does not like this exclusivity, but it is truth. Jesus is God in human flesh and he and the Father are one. Everything in the world was created in Him, through Him, and for Him.

Jesus is the true vine, the producer of fruit. We become fruit bearers by abiding in the vine. Every Christian abides in Christ. We live in him and he lives in us. Bearing the fruit of Christ is evidence we live in him which glorifies the Father. Start with Christ, and you will continuously bring forth the fruit of his life.

The Great "I Am": Jesus' Name

Jesus Christ is the Great "I Am". He declares this throughout the Gospels and underscores this through statements like: "I am the resurrection and the life", "I am the bread of life", "I am the way, the truth, and the life", and more. When you get to know Jesus, you will get to know the "I am". For he "is the vine and you are the branches". And when you become attached to the vine by believing the Gospel and receiving his life, he is where we live our lives and we will bear the fruit of his life in the world today. Live in the confidence you have being rooted in The Great "I am".
