The Top Ten: 2 Corinthians 3:6-18
Bob Christopher, Bob Davis
2 Corinthians 3:6-18 is another favorite passage. Paul's ministry was a ministry of life - he carried with him the gospel of Jesus Christ. He wasn't a minister of the law. God equipped Paul to be a minister of the New Covenant. Why? Because this gospel message is a message of life. As children of God, we need to share the same message.

The Top Ten: Matthew 16:13-23
Bob Christopher, Bob Davis
Today's passage is Matthew 16:13-23. It takes place in a region called Caesarea Philippi. Jesus went there intentionally to talk with his disciples. He asked the most compelling question ever asked and the one that secures the foundation for all of Christianity. He asks you the same question: "Who do you say I am?"

The essentials in this passage safeguard us against error, lies and deceit from religious and worldly sources. We are warned to beware of anyone who adds to the Gospel. Your flesh doesn't compare to what you have in Jesus Christ. You have gained him and received the gift of righteousness. Christ himself is the goal. Enemies will tray to pull you off the path, so beware. You can identify them because their minds are set on early things. Our citizenship is in heaven, and we eagerly await Jesus.

The Top Ten: 1 Corinthians 15
Bob Christopher, Bob Davis
The Gospel is of first importance. That is, the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ all in accordance to scripture. The resurrection of Jesus Christ is the substance of our faith. Without it, our faith is future, we are still in our sins, and without hope. We will also receive a resurrected body - one that is imperishable, glorious, raised in power, spiritual, immortal, and in the likeness of Christ's body. At the last trumpet, death will be swallowed up in victory.

The Top Ten: Romans 6:1-14
Bob Christopher, Bob Davis
Romans 6:1-14 is a passage full of reminders. Shall we continue in sin, that grace may increase? Absolutely not. Grace isn't a license to sin. Grace is a license to live life to the full through faith in Jesus Christ. We are reminded that we were baptized into Christ, baptized into his death, buried with Christ by baptism into death, and we were raised to walk in the newness of life. We are to remember that we will be united with Christ in a resurrection like his, just as we died with Christ, we will also live with him, Jesus will never die again, He died to sin once for all and now he lives to God. Consider this to be true of you.

The Top Ten: John 17
Bob Christopher, Bob Davis
In John 17, eternal life is laid out in all its glory. Through Jesus' own words, we learn that Jesus has the authority to give eternal life and that it is a new quality of life for us here and now. It is knowing God, namely knowing Jesus Christ. He ends the passage by praying for unity, the same unity he enjoys with the Father. Like the disciples, we too share the glory of the Father. And he promises to continue to make the Father known to us, so that his love will be in us.
