The Great I AM
Bob Christopher, Bob Davis
This is the last broadcast as Basic Gospel. We are grateful for the love and support of our listeners and we thank God for each and every one of you. Today’s message is the Great I Am. Our Christian life begins and ends with Jesus. He holds everything together. Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I am.” John 8:58. Jesus is always going to be the Great I AM in your life. Rejoice in the truth that he will never leave you or forsake you. Open the door of your heart and say “yes” to Jesus Christ.

He is Alive!
Bob Christopher, Bob Davis
He is alive! This is the greatest message ever told. This gospel message is a message of life. We see that through the resurrection of Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians 15:17 says “And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins.” But, thanks be to God, Jesus was raised and in him we have eternal life.

Bob shares an email from Ben. "I never would have imagined such change would take place in my life ... from deep despair to ever-increasing hope and stability". We all need hope in this world. But you're not gonna find a lot of hope in this world apart from Jesus. "It is always good to be made much of for a good purpose, and not only when I am present with you, my little children, for whom I am again in the anguish of childbirth until Christ is formed in you! " Galatians 4:18-19

Promises and Blessings
Bob Christopher, Bob Davis
The New Covenant is guaranteed to us by a better promise and an oath made by God. We read about this in Hebrews 6:13-20 "For when God made a promise to Abraham, since he had no one greater by whom to swear, he swore by himself, saying, 'Surely I will bless you and multiply you.' And thus Abraham, having patiently waited, obtained the promise. ..."

And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.". In 2020 it was Isaiah 41:10 "fear not, for I am with you..."

Happy New Year
Bob Christopher, Bob Davis
2020 was a very unsettling year. I think we have seen that the world we live in is nothing but shifting sand. The only true foundation is in Jesus Christ. As we start this new year, ask yourself the question that Jesus asked his disciples..."Who do you say that I am?" I know you will answer that Jesus is the Son of the Living God. Let's live that truth out in 2021; and that whatever comes, entrust yourself to Jesus in all things.

Jesus Himself is Our Hope
Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Andrew Farley
The Bible is filled with promises of hope. Hebrews 10:23 reads: " Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful." The hope we have in Jesus Christ is the same hope the early church had as they faced trials and tribulation of all sorts. We can hold tight to the hope of God because of God's faithfulness.

Hope is the greatest motivator in the human experience. That hope comes from our understand of God. What he's like... how he cares for and loves us. If God is the one who spoke all we know into existence than he knows all about us and knows what we need. "Have you not known? Have you not heard? He Cares for You

Hope is a powerful motivator in our day-to-day lives. Without hope we dry up. But with hope it breathes life into each one of us. When we recognize the hope of the Gospel it brings true meaning into your life. 1 Peter 5:6-7 "Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you."

Freedom and Transformation

We need a lot of hope in this world today. Many are in desperate situations and need hope. Paul put it this way: "Since we have such a hope, we are very bold, not like Moses, who would put a veil over his face so that the Israelites might not gaze at the outcome of what was being brought to an end." 2 Corinthians 3:12 The Old Covenant condemned us. The New Covenant brings us hope.

What does hope mean to you and me? How does the hope of the Gospel lift us up? During this pandemic more than 50% of Americans have experienced depression. There are so many things that affect us at large and in person. "See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are. The reason why the world does not know us is that it did not know him. Beloved, we are God's children now, and what we will be has not yet appeared; but we know that when he appears we shall be like him, because we shall see him as he is. And everyone who thus hopes in him purifies himself as he is pure." 1 John 3:1-3

When a temple was dedicated in the past, it was filled with the presence of God. On the day of your salvation, you were filled with the same spirit that filled the temple. That means God has showed up in your life. No matter what we go through, He is with us. We have been fused together with Christ, joined together as one. With that as our reality, we can change our thinking and live with great expectation.
