Rejoice In Our Sufferings

The question on the table today is this: Why do we suffer? We all suffer. We all go through trials and tribulations. "Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand."

- Thank you so much for your steadfast revelation of the basic Gospel message. I was wondering whether God starts working in people he knows will turn their hearts towards Him before they come to Christ or whether He only starts once a literal repentance takes place?
