Declared Righteous, Holy, and Perfect in Christ
Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer
In Hebrews 9:16-17 "In the case of a will, it is necessary to prove the death of the one who made it, because a will is in force only when somebody has died; it never takes effect while the one who made it is living." This will has to do with the what happens to the assets of the one who made it. Who made this New Covenant will? God did. So what had to happen for it to take effect? The death of Jesus. And when did it go into effect? The day Jesus died. So not only did Jesus fulfill the old covenant, He ushered in the New Covenant.
- We come into the world under the law of sin and death. But when the cross of Jesus intervenes in our life, we are set free from the law of sin and death and made alive by the Spirit of God.
- The cross was the place of change and when we respond to Jesus it becomes a place of change for us.
- The day you came to Christ is the day you were released from the Old and given the New.
- What about 1 John 1:9?
