In this special teaching edition of Basic Gospel, we look at the "how of faith" - how we grow in our faith and how it impacts daily life. First and foremost, we need to keep our eyes on Jesus who is the author and finisher of our faith. We need to see His love as demonstrated at the Cross, then His power in His resurrected life. That same resurrection power lives in us - we are infused with the Holy Spirit. And we begin to see His purpose which is always for our best and our benefit. Then, we need to seek the mind of Christ through the Word of God. The Holy Spirit will reveal the meaning of Scripture to us when we are ready to receive it and He will show us how to apply it to our daily life. Finally, we will begin to work out what God has worked in us, allowing the 'river of life' to break down the dams of resistance we have built and overflow from us to others. We will see this inner working in all areas of our life, including forgiving ourselves, forgiving others, seeking forgiveness from people we have wronged, and we will become willing to give our time, talents and resources from the heart in order to advance the message of God's love and grace.
