Rescued from This Evil Age
Bob Christopher, Richard Peifer, Andrew Farley
The words in Galatians 1:3-5 "Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, who gave himself for our sins to rescue us from the present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen." have relevance to us today. There is a contrast between us and the world. As we grow in Christ we can learn what this means. Counter to popular belief, the world is not getting better, but Jesus has rescued us and we have the privilege of sharing the good news.
- Robert asks about Zechariah and Elizabeth, the parents of John the Baptist.
- We are freely given in Christ: redemption, justification, forgiveness, holiness, righteousness, sanctification, a new identity etc., so we can't boast in our own works to earn these merits but boast in Him who gave it to us freely.
- William believes the condition of the world is directly related to the percentage of believers today.
