I Desire Mercy, Not Sacrifice

I love how Jesus stumped the Pharisees. On one occasion Jesus was eating with a tax collector and sinners. The Pharisees were puzzled. Jesus answered them, "On hearing this, Jesus said, 'It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. But go and learn what this means: "I desire mercy, not sacrifice." For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners." Matthew 9:12, 13 Jesus came to fix a problem. His mercy on us took us from sinner to saint... from lost to saved.

  • What do yo think of this hyper-grace? Do we need to keep asking God to forgive us?
  • Danny asks about Christians who believe that the New Covenant is not for them.
  • If we're forgiven for all our sins - past, present, and future - what do we do? If we don't do anything with the knowledge God has given us how will we stand at the throne of judgment?
