Before we got new life we had to go through death. The story of the Gospel is the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. God had to take us though death to bring us to life in Him. "What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? By no means! ... We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life." Romans 6:1-4

Grace puts us in union with Jesus. His story becomes our story. The truth of this is profound. It's one thing to know that we have been saved and will spend eternity with him. It's quite another to know that you have been given a new heart and Jesus has taken up residence in you. When you realize you are a new creature in Christ, you can live a life full of abundance.

Christianity hinges upon a single event two thousand years ago. The death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. And it's the resurrection that causes many pause. Paul addresses Jesus' resurrection in 1 Corinthians 15:14,17 "and if Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is in vain, your faith also is in vain. ... and if Christ has not been raised, your faith is worthless; you are still in your sins."

• The day after I was saved religion started me on a self improvement life. Now it is Grace and nothing else. Basic Gospel spoke the truth and I like it mush better.

How do we please God? What are His expectations? So often we question our relationship with God by questioning who we are in Christ. However the truth is that our identity in Christ is secured by Jesus himself and we are pleasing to God through our faith in Christ.

Eternal life is knowing God the Father and Jesus Christ the Son (John 17:3). Knowing God and being known by him is Christianity. If we are going to know him, we must go to him by faith not by religion. This relationship that starts at the foot of the cross of Jesus Christ is fulfilled as Christ the Risen Lord comes to live inside of us. It is him working in us that which is pleasing in his sight. It's a win-win situation. We get to know God and through that relationship we know what His will is for our lives.
