Of First Importance

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis

What is the Gospel? Paul spells it out clearly: "Now I would remind you, brothers, of the gospel I preached to you, which you received, in which you stand, and by which you are being saved, if you hold fast to the word I preached to you—unless you believed in vain." 1 Corinthians 15:1-2 "For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received..."

God's Promise to Us

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis

"And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose." Romans 8:28 God gives us a promise that He will work all things together for our good. That gives us His perspective on our lives today.

So Walk in Him

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis

"Therefore as you have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, having been firmly rooted and now being built up in Him and established in your faith, just as you were instructed, and overflowing with gratitude." Colossians 2:6-7 As the grace of God touches our heart, we respond by faith. We walk in Him by that same faith.

By Grace, Through Faith Reality

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis

A familiar passage in the Word is Ephesians 2:8-10. It begins "For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them." Ephesians 2:8-10 Everything we experience as believers is by grace through faith. There is nothing we can do to - salvation, eternal life, righteousness, holiness, etc. is a gift of God.

  • Can a believer be filled with the spirit without speaking in tongues?
  • And since the Bible refers to being sealed by the spirit, is speaking in tongues proof that one is sealed?

Assured of Salvation

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis

I've often asked the question, if you could have anything in life, what would it be? Quite often the answer comes back, "just a little peace". And the only source of peace is God. Paul put it this way in Romans: "Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ..." Romans 5:1

My Sheep Hear My voice

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis

One of the most assuring passages in the Bible is found in John 10:22. One of the most often asked questions is surrounding one's assurance of their salvation. "Jesus answered them, "I told you, and you do not believe; the works that I do in My Father's name, these testify of Me. But you do not believe because you are not of My sheep. My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me; and I give eternal life to them, and they will never perish; and no one will snatch them out of My hand."

How do you read the Bible? How do you know if what you're reading applies to you? Blessed with Every Blessing

Andrew Farley, Bob Davis

"But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life."
