The story at the Washington Navy Yard is another in a long list of disturbing news. When we see this we have to ask, "What is wrong with us?" Our issue it the heart. Jesus talked about that in Matthew 15 "Listen and understand. What goes into someone's mouth does not defile them, but what comes out of their mouth, that is what defiles them."

• Since we have to work out our own salvation, where does obedience fit into salvation?
• When we surrender to Christ He takes ownership and responsibility of our lives.
• I was talking to someone the other day about the idea that we are predestined to be saved, so we have no part in salvation.

We start the day with an unfolding story at the Washington Navy Yard. What's the root of a shooting like this? The problem is an evil heart. That's why we need the work of Christ to give us a new heart.

• I've heard you state that drinking alcohol is not wrong, but only drinking in exess is wrong. Why is this a sin?

• I suffer from anxiety attacks and I'm on medication for it. I try to give it all to God, but I cry all the time.
• I just want to say how much I've been blessed by the show.
• My sister died. She was killed by her husband. When I was small my mother was killed by my father. It feels like I'm stuck in this place and I can't get out.

I'm a little confuse about the rapture. I'm feeling doubtful about the rapture itself. One is left in the field, the other will be take up.

• I'm married but provide completely for my household and he is now involved with another woman. I don't know what to do.
• Basic Gospel is habit forming. My friends father just passed away an his priest gave him "last rites". I tried to explain that we're all priests. How can I better explain this to my freind?

What can we learn from all this violence in the world? I think it just shows us that there's a spiritual battle in all this. It also shows us the true nature of sin. Every once in a while the curtain is lifted and we see evil for what it is.

• I've been going through a hard time with my job search and my finances. I've been trying to rely on God. How do I remain faithful during the hard times?
• What is this doctrine of election?
• I'm am blind - since '99. Since this has happened to me I've drawn closer to God. I truly walk by faith and not by sight. Since we know it is the end times should we accept the corruption and sin in the world?
