It's So Simple

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer

We're talking about the ripple effects of the Protestant Reformation 500 years later. The same Gospel that Peter, Paul, and James preached reached the heart of Martin Luther. The reality that Martin discovered was there is a problem in the heart of man that only the New Covenant ushered in by Jesus Christ can answer.

  • There are so many things going on in our country these days and throughout the world, we want to encourage our listeners to pray and reach out with the love of Christ into the world.
  • Ephesians 1:7 "In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God's grace that he lavished on us." Romans 3:22-24 "... For there is no distinction: for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus"
  • A high school student calls and asks why God isn't answering his prayers and even more he asks for proof of God.

Full of Grace and Truth

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer

We're talking about grace alone this week. That's one of the things Martin Luther recognized as he read his bible. And grace alone is our only solution to this life. Praised be to God for the grace we have in Jesus Christ. In John 1:14 we read "The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth".

Grace is a Gift

Ephesians 2:4-9 "But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved ... not by works, so that no one can boast." We can enter into the benefit of someone else's obedience. Because of Christ's obedience, God gives us freely all things. We're made to be alive.

Testify to the Good News of God's Grace

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer

We're talking about the grace of God this week. If we're going to have a relationship with God it can only be by grace. So why don't we grab hold of that? One answer: pride. God has to do for us what we can't do for ourselves and that's what we call grace. Martin Luther had to rediscover that for himself 500 years ago. Paul said it this way: "However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God's grace." Acts 20:24

Equipped for a Life of Faith

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer

2 Timothy 3:16, 17 "All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work." Timothy is getting ready to take his place as a leader and Paul is telling him that he will suffer for the Gospel. With those trials and tribulations there's a tendency to give up - to take the easy path. Paul is reminding Timothy that he knows the way of salvation. He's adequately equipped for a life of faith in Christ.

The Questions of Your Heart

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer

We continue our discussion of Martin Luther's struggle to find meaning through religious works and his personal revelation of Scripture alone, by Christ alone, by faith alone, through grace alone, to the glory of God alone.

His Word is Truth

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer, Andrew Farley

One of the tenants of the Protestant Reformation was concerning authority. Who had ultimately authority concerning the Gospel. Jesus answered the importance of the Word of God in our lives as believers when he declared, "the Word of God is truth". We need to take our stand on the Bible as the one book of truth. Our emotions can be up and down and all over the place, but the Word anchors us to Jesus Christ.

Scripture Alone

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer

This month marks the 500th anniversary of the Protestant Reformation. One of the things that came out of this reformation was, "what is your source of truth"? Martin asked the question, "what happens when the Church and Scripture conflict?" "You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; and it is they that bear witness about me, 40 yet you refuse to come to me that you may have life " John 5:39, 40.

Assurance For Eternity

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer

Today we look at the very last verse of Revelation. "The grace of the Lord Jesus be with all. Amen." If we're going to have a connection with God it will only happen through the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ extended grace to us through his death, burial and resurrection. Through grace, we have assurance and protection for eternity. The story of the Bible is God manifesting himself in the Lord Jesus Christ to extend grace to mankind to restore a lost people back to himself. It's a simple story - it's all about Jesus from beginning to end.
