No Other Name

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer

Acts 4:11, 12 11 This Jesus is the stone that was rejected by you, the builders, which has become the cornerstone. And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved." If we're going to make an impact in this world, we're going to be talking about Jesus. We'll be lifting up the name of Jesus.

Fear Not

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer

When you read the Word of God you realize this whole story revolves around Jesus. Apart from Jesus Christ there is no hope. But with Jesus we have everything. Today we're going to look at the importance of Christ alone. Revelation 1:17 "When I saw him, I fell at his feet as though dead. But he laid his right hand on me, saying, "Fear not, I am the first and the last ..."

Faith is the Way

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer

Galatians 2:20 "I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me." This is how we are to live a Christians. By faith. But often times we don't live by faith in what Jesus Christ did for us 2,000 years ago. We no longer live by faith in our effort, we live by faith in his finished work.

  • Scripture alone, faith alone, grace alone, Christ alone, to the glory of God alone.

What is Faith?

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer

Hebrews 11:1 states that: "Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see." Having a confidence in this hope gives us the assurance to live this life now. Faith isn't about feelings, it's about resting in what's true. God wants us to be sure that our sins are forgiven. He wants us to be confident of our new identity as children of God.

Cleansed by Faith

Richard Peifer, Bob Davis, Andrew Farley

There's a wonderful picture of faith in Acts 15:8, 9 "God, who knows the heart, showed that he accepted them by giving the Holy Spirit to them, just as he did to us. He did not discriminate between us and them, for he purified their hearts by faith."

The Word About Christ

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer

Romans 10:17 is so crystal clear: "Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ." This new way of life finds its essence in Jesus. It comes through hearing the message and that message is heard through hearing the word about Jesus Christ. You're not in the story until you believe the story.

  • Abraham is the father of faith. We read about his story in Genesis 12 where God brings Abram promises and blessings. Abraham believed God and it was counted to him as righteousness. Hebrews 11:17-19 "By faith Abraham, when God tested him, offered Isaac as a sacrifice. ... Abraham reasoned that God could even raise the dead, and so in a manner of speaking he did receive Isaac back from death."

Grace is Personal

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer

Here's what Paul wrote to Titus 2:11-14 "For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people, training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age, ... " So often we relegate grace to salvation. But Paul makes it clear that it's grace from start to finish.
