Trust in the Victorious Life of Jesus Christ

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer

When we're talking about faith we're not talking about believing a set of doctrines we're talking about trusting in Jesus Christ. Galatians 3:23 -25 "Before the coming of this faith, we were held in custody under the law, locked up until the faith that was to come would be revealed. So the law was our guardian until Christ came that we might be justified by faith. Now that this faith has come, we are no longer under a guardian."

Who Has Believed Our Message?

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer, Andrew Farley

In Romans we read: "How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: "How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!" Paul links faith to salvation. So many have heard the message but they don't combine the message with faith in Jesus. They still look at it as something they need to do. It's not about you. The law is not of faith.

By Grace Through Faith in Jesus

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer

Faith is vitally important in this Christian. By grace through faith in Jesus. Hebrews 4:2 "For we also have had the good news proclaimed to us, just as they did; but the message they heard was of no value to them, because they did not share the faith of those who obeyed." There are many who have heard the gospel but it's of no value to them because they haven't combined it with faith.

The Righteous Shall Live by Faith

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer

Basic Gospel welcomes the CSN Network. Our purpose is to connect people to the love of Jesus Christ. His love gives us confidence to live in this world of darkness. Our hope is that you gain a deeper understanding of the love of Christ. This month we're talking about faith. We don't see the love of God, but rather we live by faith. Paul wrote this in Galatians 3:11 "Clearly no one who relies on the law is justified before God, because 'the righteous will live by faith.'" It is by grace we are saved and it's by grace that we are to live.

It is Finished - Lesson 18

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer

Jesus's final week began with his triumphant march into Jerusalem, hailed by the people as their King. Things quickly changed. Later that week, Judas betrayed Jesus to the religious leaders, who arrested him in the Garden of Gethsemane. The high priest and elders interrogated Jesus, mocked him, and beat him through the night, hoping to find evidence to condemn him to death. All of these incidents were part of God's plan. Pilate's act of handing Jesus over to be crucified brought about the exact outcome that had to happen to carry out the plan and will of God ... on our behalf. Jesus' sacrifice is summed up in three words - "it is finished". That's good news for you and me! (Chapter 6, page 43)

We Belong to Another

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer

The Bible talks about this great rescue of Christ bringing us into this new life. In Romans 7 we read: "Do you not know, brothers and sisters—for I am speaking to those who know the law—that the law has authority over someone only as long as that person lives?" "So, my brothers and sisters, you also died to the law through the body of Christ, that you might belong to another, to him who was raised from the dead, in order that we might bear fruit for God."

Free to Live by the Spirit

Richard Peifer, Bob Davis

We've been freed from slavery to sin to be slaves of Jesus. But what does that mean to us. Galatians 5:22, 23 "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law."

Freedom To...

Richard Peifer, Bob Davis

Today we want to look at what we're freed to do. What is true freedom. "But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the benefit you reap leads to holiness, and the result is eternal life. For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 6:22, 23 Jesus saved you from the slavery of sin to be free to be a slave of Jesus. We have one choice: to be a slave to sin or a slave to Jesus Christ.

It is Finished - Lesson 17

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer

Do you know that God has forgiven your sins? Confusion on this most fundamental truth hampers every other aspect of the Christian life. The Gospel proclaims that our sins - past, present and future - have been forgiven through the finished work of Jesus Christ. Questions about forgiveness are answered in his death, burial and resurrection. That is hope for the hopeless and the refreshment our souls need. If you want to grow in your relationship with Jesus Christ and experience his love, the cross is the place to start. That all important question, "Will God forgive my sin?" is answered in three powerful words - "It is finished". (Chapter 6, page 41)
