Love Doesn't Boast

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer, Andrew Farley

Love doesn't boast. It's not wrapped up in itself. I thinks about others. Paul boasted, but not in himself. He boasted in the cross of Jesus Christ. We boast not in ourselves, but in Christ alone. God is constantly lifting us up so we can flourish in life.

Love is Not Envious

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer

In what ways have you seen love to be patient and kind? And when you see those attributes you can also see that love is not envious. What we see in the world is the opposite. The root of envy is a heart that is not content. God is perfectly content with who he is and that's why he can be patient and kind with us and is not envious of us. As his love reaches into us we become content because we have the love of God in all circumstances.

Love is Kind

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer

It's time to get back to real love. And the only way to get back to that is to go to the one who is love. And that is God. Today we examine "kindness" - doing for someone something of benefit to them. God's kindness was shown through saving us. What better gift could you receive than the gift of salvation through the sacrifice of Christ Jesus.

Love is Patient

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer

Today we look at one aspect of love — patience. In this world full of tension and tragedy, we often neglect to focus on the gift of patience. It is important for us to dig deep into the phrase "love is patient". We do need a measure of patience one toward another. We can only do that when we understand God's patience toward us. God has an unlimited supply of patience and he actively extends it to each one of us. Can we truly say the words we say are words of love and encouragement of grace? What about our attitudes? Are they always pure and come from the right motive? The honest answer to those questions is "no". When we look at ourselves, we realize how desperately we need God's patience in our lives. God's patience toward us overflows to those around us. It is His love and patience that hold the answer to the problems of the world.

The Crossover - Lesson 12

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer

Beginning on page 29, we will continue discussing the issue of identity. The moment we believed in Christ, we were changed; we received a new identity. Our old identifiers were replaced by one amazing identity which is not contingent on behavior — child of God. Through the disobedience of Adam, mankind was made sinners. Through the work of Jesus Christ, however, we are made a child of God through faith in Him. Once you fully understand your change of identity, then your behavior will begin to be consistent with who you are. Embrace the truth of John 1:12-13 "Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God — children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband's will, but born of God." This is good news!

The Message of Grace - Tim Roller Interview

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer, Tim Roller

Today's guest is Pastor Tim Roller of Grace Way Fellowship in Indiana. Bob Christopher will be speaking at the church's June Jubilee, June 25-26. This is an annual event for Grace Way that reaches out with the message of grace. When people leave this event, they leave with assurance that God cares about them. It's always an encouragement to hear from pastors who are preaching the grace of God with no additions or deletions. It's grace that changes hearts. Tim tells his own story of realizing that he was mixing law and grace in his teaching. He had to ask himself the question, "What do you really know about grace." Through asking questions, reading, and input from others, Tim fully embraced the grace of God. His ministry has exploded in a powerful way. Listen and be encouraged! https://basicgospel.net/events

With Saddened Hearts...

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer

We come on the air today with our hearts greatly saddened by the tragic situation in Orlando. Those who were attacked were Americans, fully loved by God. We ask God to comfort the family members, the victims and law enforcement. The world is a dark place and the answer is Jesus Christ. Let's boldly communicate the message of God's love to every heart that needs to move from darkness to light. Only Jesus can do that.

The Crossover - Lesson 11

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer

John 5:24 ""Very truly I tell you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be judged but has crossed over from death to life."Do you ever ask yourself "Why am I here?" This is a question about purpose. In the realm of darkness, purpose is where we miss the mark. We don't live out God's desires for us - we live for ourselves. To "cross over" from death to life is to cross over to a new purpose in life. It also means to cross over into a new identity. The moment you received Jesus Christ, you crossed over from "sinner" to "child of God". Understanding that you are a child of God, a co-heir with Christ, and that you are righteous in God's sight will finally allow you to cross over from bondage to freedom, guilt to gratitude, and will usher in a whole new purpose in life! (Chapter 4, page 28)

Love One Another

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer

As believers in Christ we live in a new covenant. On the day Jesus died, he ushered in a brand new covenant and with that came a new command: John 13:34, 35 "A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another." As you come to see how God love you, you will be truly able to love others.

  • Tell me how Jesus' statement to the disciples that "If we do not forgive we are not forgiven" should be explained.
