Self Controlled, Upright, and Godly

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer, Andrew Farley

Titus 2:11 - 13 "For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. It teaches us to say "No" to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, while we wait for the blessed hope—the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ..." I can trust that the grace of God puts me in an active place of bearing fruit and equipping me for the future, preparing me for the Christian life.

Slaves to Righteousness

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer

Romans 6:15 Paul asks the question: "What then? Shall we sin because we are not under the law but under grace? By no means!" Righteousness is a heart that believes God. Our relationship with sin and death has been severed. We are now "set free from sin and have become slaves to righteousness."

An Instrument of Righteousness

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer

How do we live out this righteousness found in Christ? In Romans 6:12 - 14 we read: "Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its evil desires. Do not offer any part of yourself to sin as an instrument of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life; and offer every part of yourself to him as an instrument of righteousness. For sin shall no longer be your master, because you are not under the law, but under grace."

First Things First - Lesson 4

Bob Christopher, Richard Peifer

Today we look at the importance of putting first things first. The resurrection of Jesus Christ is the heart and soul of Christianity because it solves our deepest problem. A miracle of new life (resurrection) occurs every time someone turns to Christ by faith. That is the power of the gospel, the amazing grace of God pours out on those who look to him for life. To see change in behavior, we must first receive new life by believing in Jesus Christ. It is Christ in you, your hope of glory! (page 9)

The Surpassing Worth of Christ

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer

God shows us His favor by putting the righteousness of Christ into our account. Philippians 3:7 "But whatever were gains to me I now consider loss for the sake of Christ." Paul thought he was something — almost perfect under the law. But when he met Christ he put all that behind him and counted it all as rubbish. By grace we've been justified through faith in Jesus.

Interview with Abraham Hillel - part 2

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Abraham Hillel

We continue our conversation with Abraham Hillel, our tour guide for the February 2017 trip to Israel. Abraham has been our guide before and is an amazing font of information. Abraham's passion is to make sense of the history of Israel. Unless you understand the history, religion of any kind is hard to understand. In Christianity, Israel is a physical place to experience and understand our religion. Abraham's goal as a tour guide is to help people understand how and why events happened the way they did. Abrahams favorite place to introduce new visitors is Jerusalem, Christian or not. Jerusalem is mentioned more than 500 times in Old Testament and 150 times in New. You will be able to physically walk in the footsteps of the One who walked there over 2000 years ago. Bob also gives an overview of our upcoming trip.
