Draw Near to God

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer, Andrew Farley

You read in Hebrews some startling words about the Old Covenant. You read in 8:13 that the old has been made obsolete. And in 7:18-19 that that former regulation has been set aside because it's week and useless. There's a radical shift away from us trying to make promises to God. But we were no good at it. The New Covenant is not about promises to God, but an oath God made with Himself. Two unchangeable things, God and God, and we become beneficiaries of the promise. Make the decision to become a New Covenant believer today.

Old or New?

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer

Which covenant do we live in today? Are we Old Covenant people or New Covenant people? So often we try to blend the Old with the New. We simply come up with a mess. The Old showed us our need for Christ. Once we understand that, the Old Covenant has done its work and we're introduced to the New Covenant through life in Christ.

Everything's Better in the New

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis

Through the truth of Jesus Christ's resurrection we are made alive. Luke 22:20 " In the same way, after the supper he took the cup, saying, 'This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you.'" Jesus ushered in the New Covenant, ratified it with His blood, and we live under this New Covenant.

Life

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer

Today we remember the events of 9-11-2011, now 14 years ago. All of us remember exactly where we were when the stories broke. I recall hearing the news coverage and the very human face they put on everything. Later that day we had a call from a lady that wondered what would have happened to her if she had been in on of those buildings. She came to Christ that day. So I encourage you to realize that Jesus Christ is the answer for you.

The Testimony of Christ

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer, Andrew Farley

"You study the Scriptures diligently because you think that in them you have eternal life. These are the very Scriptures that testify about me, yet you refuse to come to me to have life." John 5:39, 40 What is the Word all about? It's the testimony about Christ. When we approach the Word of God as the testimony of Christ it will make a difference in our life.

The Validity of God's Word

Richard Peifer, Bob Davis

Let's talk about the Bible. You should have a basic understanding about the Bible. First Jesus identified himself with the Bible. He tied the validity of the Bible to himself. If He is who He claimed to be than the Bible is true. The Bible has more manuscripts than any other book of antiquity. The Bible always points to Jesus as Lord and Christ - Savior of the world.

Believe in the One He Has Sent

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer

A special Labor Day broadcast! The Word of God has a lot to say about work. Today we take a look at just a few passages that speak to work. The work of God is this - to believe in the One he has sent (John 6:29-30). Our work is simple faith in Jesus Christ. Paul had a labor of love to share the good news of Jesus Christ (1 Corinthians 2:8-9). He reminds us, "your labor in the Lord is not in vain." We are called to live by faith. As we do, we will see incredible things happen in and through our lives. We are God's workmanship and we have been created in Christ Jesus to do good works which God prepared in advance for us to do (Ephesians 2:8-9). As we live by faith in Jesus, the work we are called to do, we will see good works flowing in and through us. Where do these good works take place? Only in church? Only on mission fields? No, it's in everyday life! As Solomon said in Ecclesiastes 3:22 "I saw that there was nothing better for a person than to enjoy their work." We hope you enjoy this special edition of Basic Gospel!

Love in Action

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer

In Philippians 2:5 we read, "Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus, who, although He existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men. Being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross."

The Image of the Invisible God

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer

The basic Gospel revolves around the person and work of Jesus Christ. The writers of the New Testament makes that clear. Colossians 1:15-17 "The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together."
