"Who do you say I am?"

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis

We're talking about the 8 truths that every Christian needs to know. Those truths are the deity of Christ, the truth of God's word, the promises of the New Covenant, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection, the purpose of the Law and freedom in God's grace, your new identity, and faith, hope, and love - the marks of the Christian life. Jesus asks a very important question in Matthew 16:13-16 When Jesus came to the region of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, "Who do people say the Son of Man is?" They replied, "Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, Jeremiah or one of the prophets." "But what about you?" he asked. "Who do you say I am?" Simon Peter answered, "You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God." If we claim He is God, are we willing to cast all our cars on Him?

  • If we cannot lose our salvation then what do we do with the scriptures like John 15:1-2?
  • If we're raptured before the 7 years how does the 3 1/2 years work out?

Christ is God

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer, Andrew Farley

We're going to be talking about the 8 key truths that every believer needs to know. We're going to spend a few days on each of these. We start with Jesus. He is greater than angels. He is greater than Moses and all the prophets. We have power through Christ who lives in us because Christ is God.

  • I've learned from you that the only unforgivable sin is the sin of unbelief, but a friend pointed out Matt. 12:31 and Mark 3:29: blasphemy of the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven. Help us understand.
  • How was Eve's desire for wisdom different from God's wisdom?
  • If the church is the body of Christ believers why are the 7 churches told to repent?
  • Please explain Romans 4:5, 6 "However, to the one who does not work but trusts God who justifies the ungodly, their faith is credited as righteousness. David says the same thing when he speaks of the blessedness of the one to whom God credits righteousness apart from works..."

A Message that Needs to be Heard

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer

Today is the last day for our CD Pierce the Darkness. We discuss what's happening in today's society through the lens of Scripture. This is a grace-filled look at those issues. In Matthew 9:36-38 we read, "When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, 'The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.'"

  • Is our daily cross the consequences of our own sin life? Luke 9:23

The Solution is Jesus

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer

The fact that Jesus Christ is alive is basic Gospel. It's the foundation of our faith. But so often we live as if Jesus is still in the grave. We try harder and harder, living as if He was never raised. But He was raised and the power of His resurrection lives in us. We can trust in Jesus who is alive.

  • Thanks to everyone who was praying as Gwen prayed to receive Christ. And thank you to all who support the ministry. It's always first life, then change. That's what happened yesterday.

Victory in Our Lives

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer

We had a wonderful program yesterday as we explained that salvation is more than just forgiveness. It's life. And yesterday Eddie received Christ. If you prayed along with Eddie, we'd like to hear from you. So how do we win this struggle against sin. Romans 7 talks about "doing what I don't want to do". We know the wages of sin is death and through the resurrection of Christ we can experience this new life. We live by faith through Christ.

  • How do we pray continually or with out ceasing as written in 1 Thessalonians 5:17?
  • I have heard pastors and Christian people saying "He/She went back to the world". What exactly are they saying?

The Way of Righteousness

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer, Andrew Farley

We see the ways of the world in Romans 10:3-4 "Since they did not know the righteousness of God and sought to establish their own, they did not submit to God's righteousness. Christ is the culmination of the law so that there may be righteousness for everyone who believes."

  • Can you lose your salvation?
  • Many times I hear teaching that imply if you commit a particular sin, you will lose your salvation.
  • I struggle everyday with doing right and react with anger. I don't know what to do.

Live, for the Will of God

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer

One of the things Jesus told us was that in this world we would have trouble. All too often we believe the opposite. But our hope is in Christ. He overcame the world. In 1 Peter 4:1-3 we read, "Therefore, since Christ suffered in his body, arm yourselves also with the same attitude, because whoever suffers in the body is done with sin. As a result, they do not live the rest of their earthly lives for evil human desires, but rather for the will of God. For you have spent enough time in the past doing what pagans choose to do—living in debauchery, lust, drunkenness, orgies, carousing and detestable idolatry."

Do You Really Believe?

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer

1 Peter had this to say: "Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade." We have hope in Chris. It's not a dead hope. It's a living hope. Something we can hope in right now. We have an inheritance that can never spoil or fade. In the midst of what's happening today, we find out if we really believe what we say we believe.
