"For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God." Romans 8:14 Now that we have died in Christ and have been raised we have a new way of life. How does the Spirit of God lead us? He gives us the assurance that we are children of God. "But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law." Galatians 5:18

Simple Gospel, Simply Grace - Part 37

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis

Christianity is a relationship. It is different from any religion. Eternal life IS about a relationship with God the Father. The defining passage as far as eternal life is concerned is John 17:3, "Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent." All paths throughout the Word of God lead to this truth. We have the incredible gift of knowing God and being in relationship with him.

You are Part of the Story

We have many things to be grateful for and in light of the celebration of the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ we have the opportunity to experience the power of new life. We were stuck in our death and we need something to set us free. In Romans 6 Paul writes: "Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? ..." Romans 6:3-4

  • Do you think that this [speckled and spotted goats in Genesis 30:32] was something supernatural from above, or do you think this is something about the power of imagination?

Children of God

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Andrew Farley

It is so important to understand who we are in Christ in these troubling times. "But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God..." John 1:12 We were born again. We died with Christ and we are raised with Christ. We can celebrate the fact that we are in God's family. That's our birthright.

  • Manny asks about women's place in the church. Specifically 1 Corinthians 14:34.
  • My pastor uses the parable of the sower to demonstrate that we can lose our salvation. Seems to me that if a person is "born again", how can they be "unborn again", as they teach?

What are the results of the resurrection for you and me? How is the resurrection relevant for us today? Simple Gospel, Simply Grace - Part 36

The movie, We Are Marshall, is deeply moving and inspirational. After the entire Marshall football program was wiped out in a plane crash, the entire town wondered if Marshall could ever field a football team. The rallying cry of the town became "We are Marshall!". I use this story to encourage you to fully embrace the New Covenant. It's time to embrace God's perfect plan and will for you. It's time to say "I am a New Covenant believer."
