The Good News is Good News

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer, Andrew Farley

Many of the skeptics of Christianity want it to be an April Fools joke. And there are even many within the faith that mix the message of the Gospel and in the end we hope it's an April Fools joke.

The April Fools Gospel?

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer, Andrew Farley

Today we're going to talk about the "April Fools Gospel". So often I've heard messages that I hoped the minister would say "April Fools" at the end. They're filled with impossible requirements and miss the forgiveness that Jesus offers.

  • I spent many years knowing God but not being a Christian. Every person in the secular world is very aware of the double-talk.

We also looked at stewardship, contentment, and giving. 2 Corinthians 9:14,15 "And in their prayers for you their hearts will go out to you, because of the surpassing grace God has given you. Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift!"

  • My youngest son and I have been studying through 1st John 5:16 about the sin unto death, we know for a Christian it isn't spiritual death because Jesus gave us Life through His death, burial, and resurrection, I was hoping you might shed some more light on this verse.
  • I know Paul said we have everything we need for life and godliness. But I've heard some say that includes physical healing. What do you think of this?

Men Will Praise God

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer

One of those things that Christ does is to move in our hearts with the grace of giving. 2 Corinthians 9:12 "This service that you perform is not only supplying the needs of the Lord's people but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God."

To Give With Blessing

Richard Peifer, Bob Davis

Today's keyword about giving is "generously". The root idea of that word is to give give with blessing. So to those who give with blessing (good word) will receive with blessing. When you read the passage in content you'll find that God gives to us so that we can give to others.

Richard Peifer, Bob Davis, Andrew Farley

We've been talking about grace and money all week and today we're talking about the giving generously like the Corinthians did in 2 Corinthians 9. • Richard brings further clarification to yesterday's question about "blood moons".
  • How do you tell someone stop [doing abusive things]?

The Generous Gift

Richard Peifer, Bob Davis, Andrew Farley

Today we're going to talk about giving enthusiastically. 2 Corinthians 9:1-5 "There is no need for me to write to you about this service to the Lord's people. For I know your eagerness to help,... So I thought it necessary to urge the brothers to visit you in advance and finish the arrangements for the generous gift you had promised. Then it will be ready as a generous gift, not as one grudgingly given."

  • There's a lot of doctrine of getting saved after death. Is this true and what does Scripture have to say about this?
