Chosen to Live in the New Covenant

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer

We have some great news to share today: Revelation 12:10 "...for the accuser of our brethren has been thrown down..." In God's economy, because of what Christ has done, these accusations hold no water at all. In Christ we know that God is for us. If you're in Christ, you've been chosen... chosen to live in the New Covenant.

  • I heard a Christian should surrender to God every day and I can't find this in the new covenant , what do you say?
  • We present ourselves as living sacrifices when we learn to rest in the finished work of Christ.
  • Scripture says pastors are to be with one wife. What should a church do when a pastor divorces?
  • How do we defend the changes between the Old and New Covenants in light of Psalm 89:34 - "My covenant will I not break, nor alter the thing that is gone out of my lips" KJV
  • Is the Darkness of Genesis 1:1 the same as the 9th Plague, and in Matthew 8:12?

Who Will Bring the Charge Against Us?

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer

Revelation 12:10 "Now have come the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God, and the authority of his Messiah. For the accuser of our brothers and sisters, who accuses them before our God day and night, has been hurled down." How do we know God is for us? Romans 5:10 "For if, while we were God's enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life!"

  • Will we really accuse ourselves?

A Message of Unity

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer, Andrew Farley

We've been talking about the armor of God and we looked at the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God. And in order to use the Word we have to know what it says and what it means.

  • Can you sum up Calvinism and fatalism?
  • Please explain Matthew 6:14,15 Tell me again the understanding of this verse - "neither will your Father forgive your trespasses".
  • Andrew, what is the most significant thing people struggle with?
  • Can you talk about the form of the resurrected life? Can you define resurrected life?

On Account of His Name

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer, Andrew Farley

In 1 John 2:12 "I am writing to you, dear children, because your sins have been forgiven on account of his name..."

  • When I read the Bible, I read it because it was God's Word. I always saw God as the pre-incarnate Christ? Do we reverence Jesus above God?
  • If the government suddenly took over everything and you had to openly denied Christ, would it be OK to lie?
  • Jesus never did anything unless the Father told Him to do it. Jesus lived in dependence upon His Father in the same way we're to live in dependence upon Christ.
  • Can someone be saved who takes the mark of the beast?

Frankly Speaking with Frank Reed

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Frank Reed

We're here today to talk to Frank Reed about his new book, Frankly Speaking. He discusses how he got into radio and climbed the ladder of success. Eventually his addiction to alcohol brought him to seek out God.

  • Frank shares how he first found the ministry of Basic Gospel. "The unconditional love of God went from my head to my heart. When you come the conclusion in your heart that your acceptance is totally secure because of the amazing sacrifice of Jesus, it will absolutely revolutionize your life."
  • "God is just looking for willing hearts to use. He's not looking for perfect people." store.basicgospel.net/product/BFS.html

The Sword of the Spirit

Richard Peifer, Bob Davis

Today we celebrate Martin Luther King and to me the most amazing thing was that he was non violent.

  • Most Christians know that the sword of the spirit is the Word of God and yet most of us use it to cut each other to ribbons. Paul had some choice words to the Corinthians over this.
  • Why does Moses' wife cut off the foreskin of his firstborn son and touch it to his heel in Exodus 4:25-26?
  • Will our pets be with us in Heaven?
  • I'd like to discuss spiritual warfare. I was never taught to bind or loose the enemy. But I never did buy it.

Because We Are Forgiven...

Richard Peifer, Bob Davis

We want to say, happy Martin Luther King Day. I was just a kid when he delivered the "I Have a Dream" speech. It was a big thing in this country. He accomplished a lot.

  • We've looked at the various pieces of the armor of God. So often we see believers fighting believers. After Paul talks about the sword of the Spirit, he tells us to pray in the Spirit... to pray for all of the Lord's people. The point of fellowship is to build one-another up.
  • 1 John 2:2 - If our sins are forgiven, why does John say to confess?
  • If God held Sodom and Gomorrah, how will God not hold the United States accountable?
  • I've heard many preachers talk about Jesus going into Hell and taking the keys from Satan. Is this true?
  • What is the Mosaic Law?

The Real Story

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer

Concerning the helmet of salvation we need to start with the fact that salvation is so much more than forgiveness. It's part of the Gospel story, but it's not the whole story. He died so that we might have life. That's the real story of salvation.

  • I attend church online. Do I need to attend a church?
  • In Colossians 2:14 it says the law was nailed to the cross, so how can God see anyone as sinners?

The Helmet of Salvation

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer

In this spiritual warfare we've been equipped with armor and today we're going to talk about the helmet of salvation. I had a lot of confusion concerning my salvation was and when I finally learned what salvation was I became secure in who I was in Christ. The helmet of salvation is vital to us.

  • Judas was supposed to be a follower of Christ, but in the end he killed himself. Was Judas saved or not?
  • I don't understand in Revelation about the mark of the beast and buying and selling without that mark.
  • Does 1 Corinthians 3:16-17 in anyway refer to someone committing suicide or otherwise destroying their body?

Declared to Be His Child

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer

One of the ways the basic Gospel intersects with our day-to-day life is temptation. How can we be strong in the Lord? By recognizing the armor of God. The shield of faith is one element. But what does this faith look like?

  • In Scripture there's no mention of the United States of America. What is going on in the US right now in the diminishing of it's significance?
  • I remember you talking about not taking doctrine from the Book of Acts. Can you refresh my memory?
  • Cameron and Bob discuss the New Covenant that we live in here and now.
