God's Testimony About Jesus

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer

We see the passage in Deuteronomy 30:6 fulfilled in Colossians 2:11,12

  • Where can I find the verse that God will judge the wicked? 2 Thessalonians 1:6-8
  • What are your thoughts on the translation of the word "hell"? And where does our idea of eternal judgment come from?
  • I always tell people they need to read the Bible to grow in Christ.
  • What is the difference between the body of Christ and the bride of Christ?

Fulfilled in Christ

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer

We've been ushered into a new covenant where all the promises have been fulfilled in Jesus Christ. Deuteronomy 30:6 "The Lord your God will circumcise your hearts and the hearts of your descendants, so that you may love him with all your heart and with all your soul, and live. " Colossians 2:11,12 "In him you were also circumcised with a circumcision not performed by human hands. Your whole self ruled by the flesh was put off when you were circumcised by Christ, having been buried with him in baptism, in which you were also raised with him through your faith in the working of God, who raised him from the dead." When I was in the world remarried my wife and then came to Jesus Christ. Am I an adulterer?

Change of Priesthood - Change of Law

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer, Andrew Farley

One of the ways Satan tries to deceive us is to try to keep us under the law. So what is the law? Many times people believe it's merely the ceremonial law and not the 10 commandments.

  • All my life I've taken creation literally, but of late I've heard some argue that the "days" are long periods of time. What are your thoughts?
  • Thank you for your teaching. Now I know it's not up to me. Romans 8:1,2 "Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death."

A Place of Change

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer, Andrew Farley

The cross of Jesus Christ is a place of change - from the Old to the New. What part of the Law did Jesus fulfill. What does Paul mean by "we are no longer under the law"?

  • Why do we need the 10 Commandments?
  • Can you help me understand Mark 1:10 - 'being torn open"?
  • If Jesus told the man he healed to make a sacrifice, how does that effect us?

The End of the Law

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer

In this spiritual warfare we have there are certain things that Satan attacks. One thing is to stop us at the cross, another is to attach our identity. The next way is to try to keep us in the Old Covenant instead of embracing all that Christ has for us in the New Covenant.

  • Galatians 1:10 "Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ."
  • Were the people in the 7 churches all saved?
  • What city was Paul leaving in chapter 20 of Acts?

New Wine and New Wine Skins

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer

One of the ways Satan attempts to deceive us to get us to blend the old with the new. For two-thousand years we've been trying to combine the Old Covenant and the New Covenant. Jesus warned about that when He stated, "no one pours new wine into old wineskins. Otherwise, the new wine will burst the skins; the wine will run out and the wineskins will be ruined. No, new wine must be poured into new wineskins."

Our True Identity

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer

One of the schemes of the devil is to get us to stop at the cross and only come to Christ for His forgiveness and in doing so we miss the life that He offers. When we're made alive in Christ we're given a brand new identity: a child of God. So the next way Satan attacks us is through our identity. We readily adopt any label we can find. But they all fall short of our true identity.

  • I'm secure in my forgiveness. But in reading James 5:15 says "will be forgiven" What does this mean?
  • We you realize you are forgiven then you have the power to forgive others.
  • How can we be called sinners if Jesus took away sin?
  • What is the difference between the Kingdom of God and the Kingdom of Heaven?
  • I'm a Calvinist. But I know others are going to Heaven too.

Righteousness in Christ Alone

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer

The fact that Christ is alive means we too can live. The fact that He's alive means we are forgiven. Obviously there is an enemy and he does everything he can to keep that truth from us. All who receive Jesus He gave the right to become children of God.

  • What is backsliding?
  • What does "confident" mean in 2 Corinthians 5:6? "Therefore we are always confident and know that as long as we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord."
  • What is righteousness?
  • Why did Jesus speak to the churches so roughly in Revelations? Why did Jesus tell the churches to repent if they are already saved?

From Death to Life

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer

One of the most subtle things that Satan does is to stop people at the cross. They see Christ died so that they could be forgiven, but miss the reality of the resurrection through His resurrection. We crossover from death to life.

  • In 1 Corinthians 5:5 and 1 Timothy 1:20 the Apostle Paul uses the expressions having to do with "...delivering (one) over to Satan..." Could you please explain?
  • I don't understand how the dead in Christ can be raised first if they're already with Christ?

In the Resurrection We Get Life

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer

We want to talk about what this Gospel message is - the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ. But how is this lived out. So often people only equate the Gospel with the death of Christ and the forgiveness of sins. But our need it much deeper. We need life.

  • How are people saved during the tribulation if the Holy Spirit is withdrawn?
