Full of Grace and Truth

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis

In the Gospel of John, John writes: "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made. And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth." John 1:1-3,14 So what do we know about Jesus Christ?

A Righteous Saint

[we] are justified by his grace as a gift ..." Romans 3:21-24 What does the grace of God do? The grace of God justifies us. It declares us righteousness.

Grace Builds Us Up

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis

One thing we need in this world today is more encouragement. And those that offer encouragement is a breath of fresh air. Paul says that of grace. It's and encouragement to us. "And now I commend you to God and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up and to give you the inheritance among all those who are sanctified." Acts 20:32 The grace of God builds us up.

Out of Darkness

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis

"For sin will have no dominion over you, since you are not under law but under grace." Romans 6:14 Paul explains how this came to be taken out of darkness into light. We died ... but that's not where Christ ends the story. We were buried with him in baptism and raised through his resurrection.

The Top Ten: Romans 6:1-14

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis

Romans 6:1-14 is a passage full of reminders. Shall we continue in sin, that grace may increase? Absolutely not. Grace isn't a license to sin. Grace is a license to live life to the full through faith in Jesus Christ. We are reminded that we were baptized into Christ, baptized into his death, buried with Christ by baptism into death, and we were raised to walk in the newness of life. We are to remember that we will be united with Christ in a resurrection like his, just as we died with Christ, we will also live with him, Jesus will never die again, He died to sin once for all and now he lives to God. Consider this to be true of you.

By Grace Through Faith in Jesus Christ

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis

We're saved by grace. And not only are we saved through faith in Jesus Christ — we live by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. Paul put it this way: "For through the law I died to the law, so that I might live to God. I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. ... I do not nullify the grace of God, for if righteousness were through the law, then Christ died for no purpose." Galatians 2:19-21

Jesus Says "I Know You"

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis

"See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are. The reason why the world does not know us is that it did not know him. Beloved, we are God's children now, and what we will be has not yet appeared; but we know that when he appears we shall be like him, because we shall see him as he is." 1 John 3:1-2
