Your Victory Cry

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis

Every single believer has so much to be thankful for. Reading Ephesians 1:1-14 reminds us of so many blessings we have in Jesus Christ. I was trapped in a Romans 7 mentality for a long time, trying to live out the Christian life. Let this verse be your victory cry: "Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord!"

  • I'm surrounded by evil. Everywhere I go to get support I get turned away.
  • Randy calls to say "thank you for what you do".
  • What does it mean to be in Christ?
  • Did Jesus pray for believers only or unbelievers too in John 17?

Rejoice Always

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis

We have so much to be thankful for and it's interesting to see how many times the Bible speaks to thankfulness. And there are so many reasons why. When you look at the word grace, we see it's from it's from the Greek word charis. Paul writes about this in 1 Thessalonians 5

  • Bobby is celebrating 1 year in Christ and asks, "what does it mean to walk in the spirit"?
  • In The Lord's Prayer, it says, "forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us". The word, "as" - does it mean our forgiveness is dependent upon how we forgive others?
  • Jodene shares how God leads her to give and love, especially at this time of year.
  • My brother passed away last year. He wasn't saved. How do I find hope in the midst of that?

The Top Ten: John 17

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis

In John 17, eternal life is laid out in all its glory. Through Jesus' own words, we learn that Jesus has the authority to give eternal life and that it is a new quality of life for us here and now. It is knowing God, namely knowing Jesus Christ. He ends the passage by praying for unity, the same unity he enjoys with the Father. Like the disciples, we too share the glory of the Father. And he promises to continue to make the Father known to us, so that his love will be in us.

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis

Be sure to listen to the interview with Dr. John Lennox that were aired Tuesday and Wednesday. And Can Science Explain Everything? https://store.basicgospel.net/product/BCSE.html

  • Science and philosophy ask the question, why is there something instead of nothing? The simply answer is God. And God created us in his image. "Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. ..." Romans 5:1-2 8
  • Do you have peace with God?
  • Would you please explain John 14:21? What does "know my commandments and keep them mean?"
  • I struggle with cussing. What do I do with that sin?
  • Is Biblical tongues for today?
  • What does the Bible say about having alcoholic drinks? Is it ok to drink?

Dr. John Lennox, part 2

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Dr. John Lennox

We continue our discussion with Dr. John Lennox today. Dr. Lennox asserts that religion and science are compatible one with another. Specifically natural science and Biblical theism. The Judeo-Christian legacy in the Bible is the foundation for contemporary science. The beginning of scripture is a huge statement. If there is an intelligent God behind nature and if he has made us in his image then it is to be expected that we can understand nature. The same heavens and earth proclaimed as God's creation in Genesis are the very same heavens and earth that are studied by physicists and astrophysicists.

Dr. John Lennox, part 1

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Dr. John Lennox

Our guest today is Dr. John Lennox, author of "Can Science Explain Everything?" It can often seem that, in the 21st century, we have no need for religion when science has given us so many insights into the mysteries of this universe. Science and religion just do not mix. Drawing on his own experiences as a scientist and a Christian, and decades of good-natured discussion and debates about the relationship between them, Dr. Lennox suggests we can see these two presumed foes as good friends and enjoy and benefit from both of them.

Rest From Your Work

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis

One of the benefits of the Gospel is that we can rest. We look at the story of creation. Man was created on the 6th day and on the 7th day, God rested. Man entered into a relationship with God in rest. When we receive the good news we rest in the finished work of Jesus Christ. "there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God, for whoever has entered God's rest has also rested from his works as God did from his. "Hebrews 4:9,10

  • What is backsliding in the New Testament? Can believers backslide? If a believer backslides for twenty years or more, were they ever saved?
  • Why are the seven day Adventist are pushing for the Sabbath day?
