Walk in Trust - Grow in Grace

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer

Matthew 6:25 has some practical application in our lives today. So what are you worried about? Are you willing to entrust that to the one who loves you and gave himself for you? Part of growing in Christ is more readily entrusting him with those things. "Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?" What did Paul mean by "I wish that all of you were as I am." 1 Corinthians 7:7

The Grace Guide to Marriage - part 1

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer

Then God said, "Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground." Genesis 1:26 The Grace Guide to Marriage is our new series. There's a lot of information in the world regarding marriage. But the Word of God speaks directly to marriages. The way to build a strong Biblical marriage is through the lens of the New Covenant. We pray and hope this will be beneficial to our listeners. Marriage is God-designed and the Scripture present grand, sweeping insight. God designed marriage to have a greater purpose - to paint a picture of Jesus, love, and grace.

You Are Free Indeed

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer, Andrew Farley

Alice Johnson was released from prison yesterday after receiving a pardon from President Trump. To see her reaction to being set free is a reminder of the release from bondage we experience as believers. As Jesus said, "when the Son sets you free, you are free indeed". Just as Alice Johnson will not show up at the prison doors next week asking to be put back under bondage, we believers should live free, never returning to the bondage of the law. "It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery." Galatians 5:1

One in Christ

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer

So often we see ourselves as individual. But the truth is when we are born again, we become members of the body of Christ. Paul writes: "For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ. For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—Jews or Greeks, slaves or free—and all were made to drink of one Spirit."

God's Grace is Sufficient

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer

We all go through hardships in life. And sometimes it's just tough. But those are the times that God wants to grow us in him. We see that in Paul's life he faced trials and tribulation everywhere he went. In 2 Corinthians. 12:8-10 Paul writes: Three times I pleaded with the Lord about this, that it should leave me. But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness. ... " His grace is sufficient for us in all things.

Hebrews - So Great a Salvation, part 20

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer

This last session of our teaching on Hebrews is an overview of the foundational truths we've explored. This whole story of the Bible is the story of Jesus. God spoke through his prophets before Jesus, and now Christ has come. Through the Holy Spirit, he is with us today. God speaks to us through him. Christ fulfilled the roles laid out before him and we are beneficiaries of his finished work.

Blessed and Forgiven

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer

We end this month encouraging you to live as a blessed person. You are blessed because your sins have been forgiven once and for all and you live as a righteous person. Resting in the finished work of Christ sets you free to enjoy a life of freedom and contentment. What Jesus did was sufficient and you can live as the blessed person you are in Him. Romans 4:7 "Blessed are those whose lawless deeds are forgiven..."

Forgiving Yourself

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer

"I think that if God forgives us we must forgive ourselves." CS Lewis. Why do so many have such a hard time forgiving themselves? If you will rest in the finished work of Christ only then can you truly forgive yourself. Christ not only died for your sins, he died for the sins of the world.

Freedom in Christ

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer

"There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus." It is the work of Jesus Christ that brings us to that point. "For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death." Romans 8:1-2 It is a privilege to live in this freedom and share it with others.

A Special Memorial Day Broadcast

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer

Welcome to a very special Memorial Day broadcast as we remember those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our country and the families they've left behind. We know what the Bible has to say about this: "Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one's life for one's friends. You are my friends if you do what I command."

  • There are two sacraments we celebrate as the church. Those are baptism and the Lord's Supper. The first thing we realize is that both of these start with the memory of sacrifice - Jesus' death on the cross. It's a time of celebration because of the freedom found through His sacrifice. It is a joyous occasion to remember all that Christ's death accomplished for us. God remembers our sins no more. We have been set free from the law of sin and death. Through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ we have been made holy. We have been set apart for God's use. Apart from Jesus' sacrifice that would not be possible.
  • Today, as you remember those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom, think about what Jesus has done for you by His death.
  • All of us look for a sense of purpose. What is our purpose in life? It is to be used by God. That's what it means to be made holy - to be set apart by God for His use. Jesus made that possible. There is nothing more worthwhile than to make ourselves a "living sacrifice" for God's work.
  • Philippians 2:12, 13 "Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed—not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence—continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose."
