We have a race set before us. We are to run this race with perseverance. We often become discouraged in times of hardship; however, Hebrews tell us that what we will receive through this hardship will strengthen us. When we know that we are forever His and that everything that happens, good or bad, brings us closer to him. Jesus is on our side. Because of that, we can be encouraged in discipline. Run your race, with perseverance, and others will see that Jesus really is truth and light.

Jesus cried "It is finished!" from the cross and his work was done. The result of that is that " In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace". Ephesians 1:7 If you're in him you receive this gift of grace.

Today is "Teacher Appreciation Day" and we all have teachers to thank for their influence in our lives. It's a great day to say "thank you" to those special people. One of the great truths we have the opportunity to teach is the complete forgiveness in Jesus Christ. When we receive him, we receive forgiveness of sins. And we see that when Peter delivers the first Gospel message to Gentiles. Acts 10

The key that unlocks the door for many, many people is coming to the reality that Jesus has forgiven all of their sins. When I understood Colossians 2:13 everything really clicked for me. "And you, who were dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made alive together with him, having forgiven us all our trespasses ..."

We're all wondering if God really forgave all our sins. We know that Christ died for sins, but don't really understand what it means. In the message of forgiveness is encountering the risen Christ. It is the resurrected Christ. Our encounter with Jesus is through the Holy Spirit by faith. We read this in Acts 2:22, 32 "Fellow Israelites, listen to this: Jesus of Nazareth was a man accredited by God to you by miracles, wonders and signs, which God did among you through him, as you yourselves know. ... God has raised this Jesus to life, and we are all witnesses of it."
