Hebrews - So Great a Salvation, part 10

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer

Jesus Christ is the mediation of a new covenant (or will). A will goes in effect when the one who made it dies. Christ's blood inaugurated the New Covenant and provided forgiveness of sins. His death redeems us from our sins. When Christ appears a second time, he will not deal with sin, but will bring salvation to those who are waiting for him.

One or Many Ways to God

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer

The question is this: Is there only one way or many ways to God? That's a fiery debate in the world. The argument that there are many ways to God is wrong. The exclusive claim to God is made by Jesus Christ - "I am the way, the truth and the life". There is only one place to find life for those who are spiritually dead - Jesus Christ the life-giver.

Made Alive in Christ

Through the resurrection, Jesus abolished death and brought life and immortality for all who believe, Today we learned that Stephen Hawking has died. Mr. Hawking came to the conclusion that there was no God and that everything in the world could be explained and came from science. We know that as great a scientist as Mr. Hawking was, the only way to receive eternal life is through the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ Jesus.

Beyond the Grave

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer

For our faith to have value it has to be connected to the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Jesus testified to his disciples about his resurrection several times. But the disciples refused to believe it. And even when they found the tomb empty they didn't look for the risen Christ, but looked for those that might have stole the body. Are you still looking for the living among the dead?

Hebrews - So Great a Salvation, part 9

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer

Chapter 7 of Hebrews gives us deep insight into Jesus as our high priest and the New Covenant. God wants us to know for sure that Jesus Christ is his final word to man. There's no higher word, no greater word, or life-changing word than what we experience in Christ Jesus. We don't live in the Old Covenant - we live in the New Covenant because of the work of Christ Jesus.

The Hope of the Resurrection

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer

Christianity hinges on the resurrection. And just as God raised Jesus from the dead, we too shall be raised. It is the resurrection of Jesus Christ that gives us hope. That hope shapes how we act and live today. It elevates our thinking. As we start looking toward Jesus and what he has done it infuses hope in the midst of any circumstance. John 11:25-27

Do You Believe This?

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer, Andrew Farley

Our key verse for today is John 11:25 Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?" This same question is asked today of each one of us. The indestructible life of Christ is given to us. And his life is our eternal life.

The Hope of the Gospel

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer

The resurrection can be a hard fact to grasp. We see that in the Gospels as Jesus shares what's about to happen - his death, burial, and resurrection. In Matthew 17:22,23 we read, "As they were gathering in Galilee, Jesus said to them, 'The Son of Man is about to be delivered into the hands of men, and they will kill him, and he will be raised on the third day.'" and the disciples' reaction: "...they were greatly distressed." Have you grabbed hold of the hope of the Gospel?

Christianity Hinges on This Event

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer

Everything in the Christian faith hinges on the single event of the resurrection. Matthew 16:21 " From that time Jesus began to show his disciples that he must go to Jerusalem and suffer many things from the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and on the third day be raised." Here's the Gospel story. Through Christ's death, burial, and resurrection he will bring salvation to those who believe.
