It is Finished!

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer

It is Good Friday. It's an incredible day in the life of believers. It's the day when the will of God for mankind was executed by Jesus Christ himself. He came to take away our sins, to offer his body as the once and final sacrifice that would finish everything that needed to be done in regard to sin. The words he said on the cross, "It is finished", are the most powerful words ever spoken. These three words resonate deep within the heart and bring about the cleansing we all need and desperately desire. Once that happens we are cleansed forever and we have the confidence to go into the throne of grace.

A New Commandment

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer, Andrew Farley

"A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another." John 13:34 This new commandment has been etched in your mind and inscribed on your heart. Love reaches down to the deepest needs and helps lift them out of those needs. God's forgiveness for us allows us to rest in His love and serve one another in love. How do we serve others in love? Through faith in Jesus Christ.

Walk in the Newness of Life

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer

The Gospel of Jesus Christ - the death, the burial, and the resurrection - is the most important thing in this world. "What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase?" Romans 6:1 His story has become our story. "By no means! How can we who died to sin still live in it? Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death?" Romans 6:2,3

It is the Story of Jesus

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer

Everything hinges upon the resurrection of Jesus Christ. If Christ is not raised there is no hope for us. Paul states it plainly in 1 Corinthians 15:12-19 "But if it is preached that Christ has been raised from the dead, how can some of you say that there is no resurrection of the dead?"

Of First Importance

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer

This is the greatest week of the year. It's the week that the story told for years became reality. It's the week that Jesus fulfilled God's will for us. 1 Corinthians 15:1-11 "Now I would remind you, brothers, of the gospel I preached to you, which you received, in which you stand, and by which you are being saved, if you hold fast to the word I preached to you—unless you believed in vain. ... Hebrews - So Great a Salvation, part 11

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer

The Law, as beautiful as it is, is but a shadow. It is not the reality. Therefore, it can never make perfect those who draw near. In reality, it is but a constant reminder of sin. Jesus came to do God's will - remove sins. Because Jesus offered his body and accomplished God's will, he established the New Covenant. This one offering has perfected all who are the holy ones. Where there is forgiveness, there is no longer any sacrifice for sins. It is finished!

Alive in Christ for Eternity

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer, Andrew Farley

The resurrection is the key to the Gospel. The moment we receive Christ we received his life. And the good news about receiving the life of Christ is that it's yours eternally. When we receive his life it's a permanent transaction. We're alive in Christ forever.

The Mediator of a New Covenant

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer

We live in the New Covenant today as believers in Jesus Christ. When did this covenant take effect? On the death of Christ. His death is the pivot point. Hebrews explains this in Hebrews 9:15-22 "For this reason Christ is the mediator of a new covenant, that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance ..."
