Faith is the assurance of things hoped for and the conviction of things not seen. Without faith it is impossible to please God. By faith Noah built the ark, Abraham left his home, Sarah received power to conceive. By faith, Abraham offered up Isaac because he was convinced that God was able to raise him from the dead. Because of the resurrection of Jesus, you too were raised from the dead - by faith in Jesus.

Romans 10:4 "For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes." The law could only show us our unrighteousness it could never make us righteous. When we come to Christ by faith we are made righteous in him. The old has given way to the new. Until you let Jesus be the end of the law you can't see the law for what it is.

• Charles asks about Matthew 18:1-20 concerning the question to Jesus: "Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?"
• What is the "meat of the Word"? I have always believed that it was the so called "deeper" things of God, such as Bible prophecy or something. Is this true?

Hebrews 9:15 "Therefore he is the mediator of a new covenant, so that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance, since a death has occurred that redeems them from the transgressions committed under the first covenant." Jesus changes the line of the priesthood and becomes the new high priest and brings with him the New Covenant - a whole new way of living. It's grace or nothing at all.

• Are we asleep at death without any knowledge of our existence until the Great Judgement, or, as others suggest, we go to Paradise?

When you see and understand the full message of the Gospel, hope enters the picture. Abundant life sets us free from guilt and fear. It sets us free and through it we are shown God's love.

The blood of Jesus opened the way for us into the Most Holy Place. It is His blood that gives us confidence to enter in and that cleanses our conscience one and for all. Having your conscience cleansed enables you to endure through trials and tribulations. What you possess in Christ is far superior to anything you can hold in this world. Be confident, be patient, live by faith in Christ Jesus.

We've been looking at post-resurrection appearances of Christ. And today we're going to look at the Apostle Paul. Paul was trying to rid the world of Christianity. On the road to Damascus, Jesus asks Paul, "why are you persecuting me?" And Paul only had one response: "Who are you, Lord?"

Is it OK to doubt? Do we disappoint Jesus when we question and doubt? The answer is absolutely not. Think of Thomas, the apostle who couldn't believe that Christ had been raised from the death without solid proof. Jesus compassionately understood Thomas's heart and showed him his nail scarred hands. At once, Thomas declared "My God and my Savior." Jesus understands our doubts and leads us into belief with love and grace.
