God opens the door to us to draw near to him. The curtain in the temple was torn top to bottom on the day Jesus died, signifying that access to God is barrier-free. How do I draw near to God? It starts with Him and seeing what He's done for us in Christ Jesus. In 1 Corinthians 2 we see Paul defending his ministry. "For I decided to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ and him crucified." The message is Jesus Christ and Paul wanted that to be understood. "And I was with you in weakness and in fear and much trembling, and my speech and my message were not in plausible words of wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, so that your faith might not rest in the wisdom of men but in the power of God."

Do you know what you believe about the death, burial, and resurrection? It's the Gospel story. But, why is it relevant to you? Jesus died for our sins in accordance to scriptures. Jesus was buried. Proof of death is necessary for a will to go into effect; therefore, the New Covenant is in effect. Why was Jesus raised? It is proof that all of his claims about himself are true. It also means that we, too, are raised to walk in the newness of life.

What is the truth about God? God is love. God so loved the world... We need to get our ideas about God aligned with what He says about himself. Our view of God is distorted by our life of sin and death. But when we are born again we can know God as who He truly is. And that changes how we relate to one another.

Paul begins each letter in the same way; with the grace of God. He ends each letter the same way; "May the Grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit." That should speak volumes to us. No matter what circumstances you experience in life, let your life be marked by the grace of God. It distinguishes you for eternity. It is the grace of God that draws others to you and, through you, to Jesus Christ.
