The Truth Will Set You Free

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer

"The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth." John 1:14 Where are we going to find truth? The source of truth is Jesus Christ. If we're going to find truth. John 8:31, 32 "If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free."and the truth will set you free." Why do we believe the Gospel? Because it's true.

Walking in Truth

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer, Andrew Farley

Skeptics are always questioning the Word of God. Does it contain truth. 3 John 3 1:4 "I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth." So many believers today don't walk in the truth. What does it mean to walk in truth? Old thinking needs to be replaced by new thinking. Our role is to simply trust. Learning to trust in the risen Christ to do his work in and through us. That's what we as believers need to walk in every day of our lives.

  • Please explain Rev 22:19. If we can not lose our salvation, what does it mean when God says he will blot out our name from the book of life?

Simple, Pure, and Powerful

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer

3 John 1:3 "It gave me great joy when some believers came and testified about your faithfulness to the truth, telling how you continue to walk in it." Salvation is being made alive to walk in the newness of God's grace. The truth is simple, pure, and powerful.

Truth Made Known Through Jesus Christ

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer

When you think of apologetics as far as attacks outside Christianity, you think of three things: origins - where do we come from, the resurrection of Jesus Christ - did it really happen?, and truth - what is truth? In this world today, truth has become relative. It's whatever you make of it. But we know from the word of God that His word is truth - Jesus came full of grace and truth. What is truth? Jesus was asked that question by Pilot.

  • In Acts 7:55, 56 why is Jesus standing instead of sitting? "Look," he said, "I see heaven open and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God."

Eternal Life - Lesson 50

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer

The Bible talks about a newness of life that is altogether different than anything we've experienced. Christ came to give us life. Not just any life. But his life. And that life is eternal. Life is all about relationship. Knowing and being known. This is at the heart of eternal life. And as we grow in the understanding of who Jesus is, we will be transformed from the inside out. John 17:3 "Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent." (Chapter 15, page 109)

Godliness With Contentment

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer

All too often many preach a false gospel. Today we look at the often used prosperity gospel, which looks to God as a way to procure financial blessing. In 1 Timothy 3, 4, Paul warns the young disciple against this very thing. "If anyone teaches otherwise and does not agree to the sound instruction of our Lord Jesus Christ and to godly teaching, they are conceited and understand nothing."

Rooted And Grounded in the Grace of God

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer, Andrew Farley

In Christianity today we see a lot of mixed messages. We see so many put into bondage by a "gospel that is really no gospel at all". What we find in all these "gospels" is a works-based system. The average Christian who really hasn't become acquainted with the grace of God only has the Ten Commandments, the Sabbath Day, and the Tithe to live by. By definition they are living under the law and not by grace.

When a Gospel Isn't The Gospel

Richard Peifer, Bob Davis

Galatians 1:6 "I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you to live in the grace of Christ ... " The word is anathema. I believe the Gospel. But it was a limited "gospel". ... Everything was provisional. What I believed was no gospel at all. It all relied upon me. Now I know the Gospel starts and ends with Jesus.

Do You Seek the Approval of Man?

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer

Often times giving a defense of the hope that within us is considered a defense against the outside world. But often it's within the body that we defend the Gospel. We read about Galatia trying to mix the old and the new. "I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you to live in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel - which is really no gospel at all." 1:6, 7 Anytime we try to add to the Gospel or take away from the Gospel it is a distortion of the Gospel.

The Goal - Lesson 49

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer

As we go through the trials in life, we see our mind being aligned to the very truth of the word of God, we see our wills begin to choose the very will of God for our lives, and we see our actions reflecting it. This is what Jesus means when he says he is going to perfect our faith. He's going to align our souls to what's true in our spirit. Jesus is enough. He is more than adequate for any circumstance or problem. Abide in him. Trust him. Experience the full measure of his resurrected life. This is where God's grace takes you. This is New Covenant living. (Chapter 14, page 106)
