Why Did Jesus Christ Come?

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer

The question arises when we discuss Jesus: why did he come? In Hebrews 10 we get a very clear picture. Therefore, when Christ came into the world, he said: "Sacrifice and offering you did not desire, but a body you prepared for me; with burnt offerings and sin offerings you were not pleased. Then I said, 'Here I am—it is written about me in the scroll - I have come to do your will, my God.'" But what is God's will? We first see this will in Jeremiah - sometime in the future there will be a new will. Jesus came into the world to bring this will into effect. Jesus came to fulfill the Old so we could live in the NEW. And we are New Covenant believers.

You are Blessed Because You Believe

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer

How can we be blessed people? We see the word "blessed" in many places. And in Luke 1:45 we read about Mary's visit with Elizabeth. Elizabeth greets Mary and exclaims, "Blessed is she who has believed that the Lord would fulfill his promises to her!" So we that if you believe, you are blessed. And my challenge to you is to lookup the following passages and see how you've been blessed. John 3:16, 1John 2:12, John 1:12, Romans 4:24-25, and Colossians 1:27.

  • Where did the name Jehovah come from?

The Light Shines in the Darkness

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer

How do we impact our culture today? That's the question on many people's minds. We have to come to grip with this contract between light and darkness. The kingdom of the world is darkness and we were all once there. But we've been delivered through Jesus entering into our world and putting us into the kingdom of light. in John 1 we read: "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning... In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind."

The Death of the One—Christ Finished Work on the Cross - Lesson 10

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer

We are beginning a new section this week as we look at Christ's finished work on the cross. We know that we have sinned and it causes us to ask the questions "does God hate me because of my sin?" and "can He forgive me?". Even in the Garden of Eden, Adam and Eve asked the same questions. But God did not leave them without hope, without a plan for salvation. The sin problem began in the Garden when they ate of the only tree they were told to avoid - the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. The result of their disobedience was spiritual death, separation from God. Through them, spiritual death came to the world - we are all born spiritually dead and someone must destroy this wedge that separates us from God. That someone is Jesus Christ.

Jesus is the Good News

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer

The basic Gospel started that Christmas morning 2,000 years ago. The promise was made to Abraham and his decedents. But the fullness was heard at the angelic announcement of the Savior - Christ the Lord. After the shepherds saw Him they spread the word and all were amazed. And ever since that night people have been spreading the news about Jesus. Jesus Christ answers the need of the human heart. He is the Gospel.

  • I have a question about the later part of Philippians 1:6. "He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Jesus Christ.", is the 'day of Jesus Christ' referring to his return at the time of the resurrection? If so, will His work continue with those who have entered into eternity prior to the resurrection?
  • If you are smack dab in the middle of sin such as adultery and you are a Christian believer ... Does God hear your prayers?

The Most Exciting Message

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer

Romans 10:17 "Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ." Why do we go on the air everyday? To proclaim the message of Christ. It changed our lives and without question it's the most exciting message we've ever heard. Doreen wrote, "I received Jesus as my Savior as a child of 8 years old. I always doubted my salvation because of the teaching I was under. When I heard the truth of the New Covenant I never doubted my salvation again."

  • I was told by my pastor the book of Jude is a warning against grace as a license to sin. Please give me some insight.
  • Rose calls excited about the children who come to Christ and wants to know why anyone would prevent young children from receiving Jesus.
  • A friend believes that if you don't keep the Sabbath then you're not saved. How can I show him the truth?
  • Bob shares Tom's letter: "I have prayed with you while listening to the radio. I want to thank you for your program. I listen every day. I learn and grow every day thanks to you and our Lord and savior Jesus. You and your team have the greatest job on earth - helping people come to Christ. I thank you from my heart."

The Workers Are Few

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer

Matthew 9:35-38 Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom and healing every disease and sickness. When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, "The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field." Anchor yourself to the shepherd that is truly the overseer of your soul.

  • Michael wants to know how to bring the truth of the creation in light of the teaching that most people have heard.
  • Gwen is going through a hard time with her current job and wondering where God is at this time.
  • Mike echoes the trials that Gwen has gone through and thanks God's faithfulness in bringing him through it all.

Don't Miss the Grace of God

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer

Because Jesus Christ is alive He changes things for us from the inside out and allows us to give thanks in all circumstances. When Peter was asked, "Who do you say I am?" He answered, "You are the Christ." Jesus gives us a mind to see things from His perspective. Hebrews 12:15 "See to it that no one misses the grace of God..." If we only see things from our perspective it's easy to let a bitter root grow up in us. Let the mind of Christ renew your mind.

The Legal Document: Is it Valid? - Lesson 9

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer

This week we continue looking at the validity of the Word of God and also explore how to study the Bible. How can we understand the Bible? By relying on the Holy Spirit to reveal the things of God. The Spirit removes the veil of self-righteousness, removes the veil of human reasoning, removes the veil of Satan's lies and it is the Spirit who searches all thing, even the deep things of God. The Spirit is always taking the things of the Lord and making them known to people. As you read the Word of God, ask the Holy Spirit to reveal the things God wants you to know. Because we have been given the mind of Christ, we can truly understand the Word. We can then begin to ask "What is the mind of Christ in this particular situation?" We read the Word to grow in our knowledge of the person and work of Jesus Christ. Ask the Holy Spirit to continue to reveal the truth about God - you will be amazed at the result!
