The Will of God for All of Us

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer

What are you thankful for? Tomorrow is Thanksgiving and a time to remember all the things we're thankful for. We see passage after passage about the attitude of thankfulness. In Romans 7 Paul asks the question of how are we to experience victory in the midst of our struggles. Paul answers it: "Thanks be to God, who delivers me through Jesus Christ our Lord!" When we turn our eyes to Jesus we experience the victory in Christ and can say "thanks be to God in Jesus Christ".

Victorious in Jesus Christ

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer

"Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?" The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Romans 15:55-57

Promises of the New

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer

This is Thanksgiving week and we're going to give thanks for the promises we have in the New Covenant. In Hebrews 10:17, 18 "Then he adds: 'Their sins and lawless acts I will remember no more.' And where these have been forgiven, sacrifice for sin is no longer necessary."

  • Why do we celebrate Jesus' birth on the 25th of December if we don't know the exact date?

The Legal Document: Is it Valid? - Lesson 8

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer

Today we look at the validity of the Bible - can we trust it? The Bible is the most important source of truth you have. It is the book that introduces you to Jesus, tells you about the New Covenant, and reveals all you've been given for life and godliness. Jesus said that the Bible is true (John 17:17), the Word of God has an eternal quality (Matthew 24:35), and that relying on the Word is crucial to know the truth (John 8:31, 32). Jesus showed a reliance and dependence on the Word and set the example for us. The reason we believe the Word of God is based on who Jesus is. Because he is God we can count on the fact that these words are valid and true and they have authority in our lives. We can trust the Word of God.

Declare the Good News Fearlessly

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer

It's so important to realize how privilege we are to be in God's work. Paul took those opportunities too. No matter where he was he always shared the love of God. Paul wrote "Pray also for me, that whenever I speak, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should." in Ephesians 6 We have nothing to fear when we proclaim Christ.

Available for His Work

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer, Andrew Farley

How do you approach the subject of a person's salvation? Since all hope rests upon Jesus Christ, we need to know how to tell someone about this hope. One of the things we learn is to be available with a giving heart and be willing to give this message to those who ask.

The Family Business

1 John 5:19 "We know that we are children of God, and that the whole world is under the control of the evil one." So we read in this passage that there is evil in this world. It's been here since the Satan tempted Adam and Eve. As children of God we're pulling people away from the forbidden tree to the Tree of Life. John goes on to write: "We know also that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know him who is true. And we are in him who is true by being in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life."

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer

The guarantee of the will. We live in a new covenant with 4 promises and live in a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Know that the work is finished because of what Jesus has done. What is the good news of this new covenant? You can never make it through human effort.
