Maybe it's something you are struggling with right now. If so, you are not alone. Many people find it difficult to forgive themselves. I love the quote from C.S. Lewis: "If God has forgiven us, then it seems we should forgive ourselves".

What Does God Do When We Sin?

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer

Jesus Christ completed His work regarding sin. In the death He died, He took away our sins once for all. When we sin, we normally ask the question, "what do I do now?"... but a better question is this, "what does God do when we sin?". There are seven things God does when we sin. 1. He reminds you of Christ's death on the cross and the forgiveness you have in Him. 2. He assures you that you are a child of God. Visit firstlifethenchange.com/i-want-this-for-you/ for the rest.

  • If you're truly born again would the new age work for you like it does for others?
  • Yesterday we talked about Robin William's suicide and that raised the question, "what happens to someone who commits suicide?".
  • Will God be displeased with me for my lack of faith? How do we pray in the midst of what's happening in the middle east?
  • I'm trying to reconcile "once saved, always saved" with the end of the Lord's prayer, where Jesus tells us "if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins."

No Fear in Love

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer

Sin brings fear into our lives. We're fearful of God's punishment because we know our sin is deserving of punishment. When we're declared forgiven we are set free... it is a declaration of freedom. John wrote this: "There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love." 1 John 4:18

  • How do we know that we are following God's direction in forgiveness?
  • I thank the Lord for delivering me from my depression. I found the living word to be the cure for my depression.
  • Christ says, "I will never leave you or forsake you" and that is the greatest promise we have.

Their Sins and Lawless Acts I Will Remember No More

Bob Christopher, Richard Peifer

The good news that Jesus is alive has been being shared since He rose from the dead. This is truly good news. But where does that fit into forgiveness. What does that mean to us? What do we need to do to get this forgiveness? Hebrews 10:17-18 "...'Their sins and lawless acts I will remember no more.' And where these have been forgiven, sacrifice for sin is no longer necessary."

Hebrews 9:22 is the key that will unlock this mystery: "Without the shedding of blood, there is no forgiveness". Sacrifices of animals cannot take away sins, only cover them.
