Experience Blessing Right Now!

Are you a blessed person? Do you experience all the blessings of God in your day to day life? The Scripture wants us to know that we are blessed. David experienced the blessing as we see in Psalm 32:1.

  • Does God start working in people before they turn to Him?
  • In Philippians 1:6, is the 'day of Jesus Christ' referring to his return at the time of the resurrection? If so, will His work continue with those who have entered into eternity prior to the resurrection?

Blessed Are the Forgiven

Content in Christ Alone

Paul had learned how to be content in all circumstance. He wrote about the in Philippians 4:11-13 "I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do all this through him who gives me strength."

  • I look at adversity with the attitude, "what a difference 24 hours makes".
  • Richard, was there any contentment in your upbringing?
  • Is there more than one way you can be saved? I the Scripture I see where Peter baptized in the name of Jesus but Jesus told them to baptize people in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Can you explain this? Is there a different way to receive the Holy Spirit?
  • What is the definition of sin?

The Secret of Contentment

One of the things you notice when you meet people they're always looking for that one thing that will make them happy. But they'll never find it until they come the One who loves them: Jesus Christ. Philippians 4:12

  • I think I've come to an understanding of Hebrews 6:4-6. Am I close in my understanding, or way off base? What are your thoughts on this?
  • I've been a Christian since I was a little boy. I struggle with a particular sin now for a couple of years. I can't see myself having a guaranteed future with Him if I continue in this sin.

A Spirit of Discernment

One of the most concise statements in the Bible concerning the Gospel is Romans 5:10. If you're saved, no matter what life has to throw at you, you always have reason to be thankful and to rejoice.

  • What did Christ mean in John 20:23 "If you forgive anyone's sins, their sins are forgiven; if you do not forgive them, they are not forgiven."?
  • Are we supposed to have Apostles now?
  • My son just went to be with the Lord in September. When someone goes to Heaven, does their soul and spirit go to Heaven?
  • Is the judgment in the future or has it already happened for those who've died?

Rejoice in Your Reconciliation

Romans 5:10-11 "For if, while we were God's enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life! Not only is this so, but we also boast in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation."

  • Is Jesus God in all three forms or is there a separate Father, Son, and Holy Spirit?
  • What should a church do when it's revealed that the pastor is caught in adultery?
  • My heart is grieved. The local government is working to close down pregnancy resource centers. It seems that pastors and leaders are silent on these issues.
  • I met some Jehovah's Witnesses who claim Jesus was born as a man, not God using Colossians 1:15.
  • In my church if you can't drop a big envelope of money in the basket, you can't be a member.

Suffering Produces Perseverance

We've been talking about character and how God produces that in our life. One of the ways He uses is suffering. We exercise faith and we see the fruit of the Spirit poor out through us. Now that you've come to faith you can turn to Jesus in the midst of your trials and sufferings.

  • We aren't to produce the fruit of the Spirit, we are to simple bear or carry the fruit of the Spirit. He is the source, not us.
  • Is there a Biblical standard for dressing a certain way for church?
  • I've been looking for a church for a long time... and I agree with them... but I have no desire to be there. How do you know a church is for you?

Rejoice In Our Sufferings

The question on the table today is this: Why do we suffer? We all suffer. We all go through trials and tribulations. "Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand."

  • My son asks: "Would Jesus have died of old age if He hadn't been killed?"
  • Thank you so much for your steadfast revelation of the basic Gospel message. I was wondering whether God starts working in people he knows will turn their hearts towards Him before they come to Christ or whether He only starts once a literal repentance takes place?
  • In view of the New Covenant how are we to interpret John 15 - branches being cut off?
  • I think God honors the prayers offered for those not saved and begins to work in people's lives.
  • What does it mean that God hardened Pharaoh's heart?
