Simple Gospel, Simply Grace - Part 26

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis

You are free. Forgiveness plus life equals freedom. Real freedom. Genuine freedom of the soul and spirit. The question is are you adequately prepared to handle freedom? Religion says no. Religion says we need guardrails and restraints against sin. But the power of the gospel equips us to live abundantly in this freedom in Christ.

Today is a historic day as it is every four years on January 20th. A new administration took office in the United States. For some this was a great day and for others not so great. But let's look at the top ten things that haven't changed. 1. Jesus is the Great I Am. John 5:8 2. He is supreme over all. Colossians 1:16 3. He holds all creation together. Colossians 1:18, Hebrews 1:3 4. The love of Jesus Christ remains. Romans 8:31-39 5. His purpose: He came that you might have life. John 10:10 6. His work: He continues to build His church. 7. Your sins are still forgiven. 8. Your identity is unchanged. 9. Christ continues to dwell in your heart. 10. Your hope remains solid and sure.

Our Hope Never Changes

Our relationship with Jesus is everything. Paul puts it this way: "For in him the whole fullness of deity dwells bodily, and you have been filled in him, who is the head of all rule and authority." Colossians 2:9-10 We are filled in Christ made whole in him. Once we're in relationship with Christ we are made complete and that relationship never changes.

The Work of the Spirit

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis

Today we recognize Martin Luther King Jr. and we want to remember all that he stood for. "Use me, God. Show me how to take who I am, who I want to be, and what I can do, and use it for a purpose greater than myself." is one of my favorite quotes of his. The day you believed the good news of Jesus Christ, you too were raised into the newness of life.

Heir of All Things

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis

What did Jesus say about himself? When we read what he had to say and put faith in that it truly transforms who we are. "Long ago, at many times and in many ways, God spoke to our fathers by the prophets, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed the heir of all things, through whom also he created the world. He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power." Hebrews 1:1-3
