Often Christians think of coming to Christ only for forgiveness. We often limit salvation to forgiveness of sins. But the primary purpose of salvation is to have life ... and have life abundantly. Between receiving forgiveness and receiving a golden ticket for entry to Heaven, there is a wealth of joy, peace, contentment, and goodness to be had in our daily life. How do we experience that life? By grace, through faith. To be saved by grace is God moving us from spiritual death to spiritual life. God makes us alive together with Christ.

God's goal isn't to have us "well adjusted". He wants us to embrace His grace and depend upon Jesus Christ moment by moment. Jesus will prove time and time again that he is sufficient in all things.

Our relationship with God is based on grace. There's no way to have a relationship with God unless he chooses to extend us grace. And he's done that through the work of Jesus Christ. God initiates this relationship with us.

Titus 3:4-7 Not only did we need grace for forgiveness but we need grace for life. It's simply grace from start to finish.

It's the 5th anniversary of Simple Gospel, Simply Grace. It's a book that's been answering the question: "how is the Christian life supposed to work?" for 5 years. What we'd love to see is for Basic Gospel Nation to get the word out about the grace of God. We are in a time were the grace of God is needed more than ever before. So let's get the word out.

The death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ is the good news. To the disciples and to us, it is hard to see death as good news. But when Jesus was raised from the dead, his resurrection became our resurrection and death lost it's power. The book of 1 Corinthians remind us of the Gospel. In plain, clear language he reinforces the priority of God for us.

We've been righteous through faith in Jesus Christ. It's not ours to earn. It's God's gift to give. "All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work." 2 Timothy 3:16-17 What does it mean to trained in righteousness?

"Now this I say and testify in the Lord, that you must no longer walk as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their minds. They are darkened in their understanding, alienated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them, due to their hardness of heart." Ephesians 4:17-18 We were once alienated from the life of God, but no more. He has made us righteous in him. We've been raised to walk in the newness of life.

"Now if the ministry that brought death, which was engraved in letters on stone, came with glory, so that the Israelites could not look steadily at the face of Moses because of its glory, transitory though it was, will not the ministry of the Spirit be even more glorious? If the ministry that brought condemnation was glorious, how much more glorious is the ministry that brings righteousness!" 2 Corinthians 3:7-9 We have two contrasting ministries. One brought death and the other brought life.
