We continue our discussion with Dr. John Lennox today. Dr. Lennox asserts that religion and science are compatible one with another. Specifically natural science and Biblical theism. The Judeo-Christian legacy in the Bible is the foundation for contemporary science. The beginning of scripture is a huge statement. If there is an intelligent God behind nature and if he has made us in his image then it is to be expected that we can understand nature. The same heavens and earth proclaimed as God's creation in Genesis are the very same heavens and earth that are studied by physicists and astrophysicists.

A special Independence Day broadcast from Basic Gospel. — I love the 4th of July. It's a wonderful experience for us as Americans that enjoy this freedom everyday. But on a much deeper level there are many who are looking for freedom in their souls. In John 8:31, Jesus tells us if we hold to his teachings, we will be his disciples. When we hold to his teachings, we will know the truth, and that truth will set us free. Freedom is what Christ has in mind for each and every one of us. This freedom can only come through Jesus Christ. When we come into this freedom, we shouldn't use it to serve ourselves, but use our freedom to serve one another in love. Are you in bondage to sin? Would you like to be free from that bondage today? Accept Jesus' words as true, know that He is our savior, and you will be set free from the bondage of sin.

So many seek to be right with God but don't know how. We can't get God to bend his righteousness to meet our righteousness. There's only one righteousness that comes through faith in Jesus Christ alone. When we understand this the Gospel comes together for us. "But now the righteousness of God has been manifested apart from the law..." Romans 3:21

One of the things that altered the trajectory of my life was as an orderly in a hospital. I met a patient who had never had a place for God. I began to share the love of God through Jesus Christ with him, he responded. When I saw his response that changed me. He passed from death to life.
