We have this great resource for our listeners this month called "Presence". It's about God with us. And we see that throughout the Bible and all of that was pointing toward the real temple which is in the hearts of you and me. "Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies." 1 Corinthians 6:19, 20

Why do we believe that we have the presence of God with us? Because Jesus told us so. "I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth ... He will glorify me, for he will take what is mine and declare it to you. All that the Father has is mine; ... " John 16:12-15 Last Sunday was Pentecost - the celebration of the coming of the Holy Spirit upon the Apostles and believers.

In this session we take a deep look at the New Covenant. The New Covenant is good news for believers with 4 simple promises. These are powerful and reach into every area of our life. The New Covenant was ushered in by the death of Jesus Christ. Just as our own wills (covenants) do not go into effect until we die, so it is with the New Covenant. Jesus' death is the dividing line between the Old and New. A firm understanding of this truth is the key to experiencing the Christian life as God intended.

What does it mean to have the presence of God in us? In John 7:37 it is written: On the last day of the feast, the great day, Jesus stood up and cried out, "If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink. 38 Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, 'Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.'" What was this feast? It was the feast of the booths or tabernacles. At the end of the celebration the priests poured out water and wine upon the article foreshadowing the water and blood that Jesus would shed as he was pierced by the sword.

Last week we looked at the Bible and how it was written, how it was put together, and why we can trust it. But how do we study the Bible? "Where is the one who is wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the debater of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world?" 1 Corinthians 1:20 The Bible is revealed by the Spirit of God and it's only through the mind of Christ that we can understand it. "For who has understood the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?" But we have the mind of Christ. 1 Corinthians 2:16
