The Power to Live is Christ

Andrew Farley, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer

"And if Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is in vain and your faith is in vain." 1 Corinthians 15:14 We've been infused with the life of Christ. How is that practical? When I start realizing I'm not supposed to live the Christian life and that Christ lives his life through me.

Stand Firm

Richard Peifer, Bob Davis, Andrew Farley

What are the benefits that accrue to us as a result of Jesus' resurrection? One of the greatest benefits is the ability to stand firm in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. "But we ought always to give thanks to God for you, brothers beloved by the Lord, because God chose you as the firstfruits to be saved, through sanctification by the Spirit and belief in the truth. To this he called you through our gospel, so that you may obtain the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. So then, brothers, stand firm and hold to the traditions that you were taught by us, either by our spoken word or by our letter." Thessalonians 2:13-15

Blessed is the One

Richard Peifer, Bob Davis

This month we've been looking at the meaning of the resurrection to all of us. Today let's take a look at Revelation chapter 1:1-3. "The revelation from Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show his servants what must soon take place. ... Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear it and take to heart what is written in it, because the time is near."

A Special Memorial Day Broadcast

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer

Welcome to a very special Memorial Day broadcast as we remember those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our country and the families they've left behind. We know what the Bible has to say about this: "Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one's life for one's friends. You are my friends if you do what I command."

  • There are two sacraments we celebrate as the church. Those are baptism and the Lord's Supper. The first thing we realize is that both of these start with the memory of sacrifice - Jesus' death on the cross. It's a time of celebration because of the freedom found through His sacrifice. It is a joyous occasion to remember all that Christ's death accomplished for us. God remembers our sins no more. We have been set free from the law of sin and death. Through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ we have been made holy. We have been set apart for God's use. Apart from Jesus' sacrifice that would not be possible.
  • Today, as you remember those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom, think about what Jesus has done for you by His death.
  • All of us look for a sense of purpose. What is our purpose in life? It is to be used by God. That's what it means to be made holy - to be set apart by God for His use. Jesus made that possible. There is nothing more worthwhile than to make ourselves a "living sacrifice" for God's work.
  • Philippians 2:12, 13 "Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed—not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence—continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose."

Power of 8: Word of God, part 1

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer

The Word of God. How do we know it is true and reliable? It is vitally important for us to answer this question. It is God's very word to man, spoken by prophets and Jesus Christ Himself. These 66 books were penned by 40 authors over a 1500 year period. All 40 authors wrote a singular story - the story of Jesus Christ. The Word of God is not a self-improvement or self-help book. It is the story of God revealed to us through Jesus Christ.

The Hatred Among Us

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer, Larry Alex Taunton

Larry Alex Taunton joins us today to highlight an article he wrote about the recent abortion law changes in several states. It's a fascinating take on why the left is so defiant and intent on wiping out any impediment to abortion. It's a seething hatred for their political opponents that keeps them from agreeing with conservatives on any point of this issue. Here the the link to the article: https://fxn.ws/2ElRypR

Complete in Christ

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer, Andrew Farley

See to it that no one takes you captive by philosophy and empty deceit, according to human tradition, according to the elemental spirits of the world, and not according to Christ. For in him the whole fullness of deity dwells bodily, and you have been filled in him, who is the head of all rule and authority. Colossians 2:8-10 Why do so many search for what they already have?

From Death to Life

Richard Peifer, Bob Davis

What are the ramifications of the resurrection? What does it mean to us? Romans 6:14 states: "For sin will have no dominion over you, since you are not under law but under grace." So how is it possible? Paul tells us just a few verses earlier: "Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body ... Do not present your members to sin as instruments for unrighteousness ..."

Living Water

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer

After Jesus was raised from the dead he appeared to over 500 people over 40 days and then ascended into Heaven. After that the Holy Spirit was given to the Apostles. Jesus spoke of this in John 7:37-39 " On the last day of the feast, the great day, Jesus stood up and cried out, "If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink. ... " When we receive the Spirit, he takes up residence in us and as he flows through us we can impact the world around us.

Power of 8: Jesus Christ, part 2

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer

The eight essential truths every Christian should know. Now who is Jesus? Is Jesus the Messiah? Jesus is the Son of the living God. Fully God and fully human. We find that in John 1:41 Andrew said we have found the Messiah. The law is not God's final word to man. In the old times God spoke to man through His prophets but today He is speaking to us through His Son, He is the final word. As the Messiah, Jesus is prophet, priest and king. As savior, how did Jesus save us? It all centers around the Lord Jesus Christ.
