We live in a New Covenant that Jesus Christ ushered in for us 2,000 years ago. But there is an Old Covenant called the Mosaic Covenant. And that covenant was bilateral which means that each party had conditions to meet. We read in Exodus 24:3 after Moses read all the words of the covenant the people responded, "All the words that the Lord has spoken we will do.". But soon after they violated the covenant. In the New Covenant it unilateral. God declared it and we benefit. We are the recipients of His work for us.

• The New Covenant gives us sense of hope for here and now and for the future as well. We are New Covenant. God brought blessing and promises to Abram (Abraham) and we read about that in Genesis 11.

The Apostle Paul kneels before the Father and this prayer that he prays, reveals that Jew and Gentile have become one in Jesus Christ. The mystery that was hidden in God is now revealed. The church of Jesus is a family, brothers and sisters in Christ. A new covenant life that is lived by His Spirit through our inner being. Know that Christ indwells in our hearts by faith and personally know the love of Christ. This love that surpasses knowledge is for you and you can be filled with the fullness of God.

Are we eternally secure? That's the question of the ages. And the Bible answers that question. God so loved that he sent Jesus into the world and into our heart to bring salvation unto us. So the only way we can lose our salvation is for Jesus to cease to exist. We live because he lives. Fear gets in the way of resting in what we have. John answers that in his first letter: "So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. ... There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love." 1 John 4:16-18

Those believers who have truly received Jesus Christ are eternally secure. Every person added to the body of Christ by the Holy Spirit is eternally secure. But not all believe this. So the Holy Spirit ministers to our spirit that we are His. Paul put it this way: "For I am sure (convinced) that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 8:38, 39

God has formed one new body made up of Jew and Gentile, the church of Jesus Christ. Paul expands on that truth in Ephesians 3:1-13. Paul was imprisoned at the time of this writing, on behalf on the Gentiles. Paul's mission was to testify to the grace of God. The mystery of God's plan for his people was revealed to him by the Holy Spirit and he spent his life communicating this message. The mystery is that Gentiles were made fellow heirs and partakers of the promise of Christ Jesus through the gospel.

For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, "Abba! Father!" Romans 8:15 God desires us to know we are sons and that we are truly his children. His spirit bears witness with our spirit that we belong to him. And we become one with Christ in spirit. This truth anchors us in the midst of doubt and confusion.
