He Lives Forever

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer

If you struggled with or doubted your salvation this verse solidifies what God has done for you through Jesus Christ. "Now there have been many of those priests, since death prevented them from continuing in office; but because Jesus lives forever, he has a permanent priesthood. Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them." Hebrews 7:23-25 Because he lives forever he saves completely. And since you have been drawn to him, when you believe and receive Jesus - you too will live forever.

  • A lot of reputable Christian teacher/pastors believe that a person can lose their salvation. Can you explain Matthew 24:45-51?

Jesus is Our Salvation

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer

Our salvation is a gift from God, by grace, through faith in Jesus. He has done the work necessary to save us completely. We are eternally secure because of the finished work of Jesus Christ. Colossians 3:3 For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. When you confess that Jesus is God, he gives you his life and he comes to take up residence in your heart. Because of that reality, then you are guaranteed to appear with Him in glory.

Ephesians - 2:11-22: One New Man

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer

As Gentiles, our heritage was separated from Christ, alienated from Israel and strangers to the covenants of promise. But, in Christ, Jew and Gentile have been made one, we have been reconciled to God and the hostile relationship of the past is now one of brothers and sisters in Christ.

Interview with Paul McClain

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Paul McClain

We welcome Paul McClain to the broadcast today. He serves as the Chairman of the Board for Basic Gospel. Paul shares his story of receiving Jesus Christ in 1974. His early life was filled with prayer, confession and works. But it never satisfied him. 19 years after he came to Christ, Paul and his wife attended one of our conferences. For the first time, he heard the truth of the New Covenant and his life has never been the same.

Are You Qualified?

Richard Peifer, Bob Davis, Andrew Farley

Let's look again at Colossians 1:12 concerning the word "qualified". We use the words in sports and all kinds of contests. So when we see a versed about being qualified we ask the question, "What do I have to do to be qualified?" We are qualified because of what Jesus Christ did so we can live everyday in Him.

Behavior vs. Truth

Richard Peifer, Bob Davis

One of our favorite verses is Colossians 1:14. But let's look at the couple verses leading up to that... "being strengthened with all power, according to his glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy; giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in light. He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins." It is God himself who is doing the work in and through you. Be joyous in your relationship with the Lord.

Made Alive Forever

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer

Every believer has eternal security. When God saves you, he saves you completely. So what is salvation? It's much more than the forgiveness of sins - it's the giving of life. We were separated from the life of God by our sin. 1 John 3:5 "You know that he appeared in order to take away sins, and in him there is no sin." He died for us so that we could have the very life of God in us. As this truth sinks deep into your soul, walk confidently in the assurance of your salvation.

Ephesians - 2:1-10: Alive in Christ

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer

The bad news is that apart from Jesus Christ we are dead in our sins and our realm of existence is sin and death following the ways of this world. The good news is God is rich in mercy and because of his great love for you he sent Jesus to rescue you from the darkness and make you alive with him sustained by his grace through faith. Salvation is not the result of works - it can only be had by faith. It's by grace through faith from start to finish.

The Truthfulness of God

Richard Peifer, Bob Davis, Andrew Farley

John 5:24 is one of my favorite verses. "Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life. He does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life." God's promise are based upon him and it has to do with his character and not ours.

He Remembers Sins No More

Bob Christopher, Bob Davis, Richard Peifer

When Adam and Even came into this world they were made in the image of God - fully alive. But when sin entered the world they died spiritually. When Jesus came and offered himself as the lamb of God, he took away sins so we could be forgiven and be made alive in Christ. Hebrews 10 To gain full assurance of salvation you need to take a deep look at the cross and see what Jesus did on your behalf.

  • Colossians 1:21-22 talk about being reconciled to Christ and how we are holy and blameless. Verse :23 says, "If indeed you continue in the faith" Can you please explain what it means by IF?
  • When John the Baptist said "behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world", what sin? Is it the sin of spiritual death or unbelief?
  • God is ultimately stronger, but in reading Daniel 10:12-13, I wonder are the devil and his angels able to block or delay answers to our prayers?
  • Many people read a verse and then argue over the interpretation. Isn't the love of the Lord more important?
